I'm a very fair person, I judge music based on merit of the song itself, not nationality.
I even listen to 'musical offering' by bach and thinks it's a great masterpiece that pwns most (if not, all) classical music. -

@$$-pop WAS good. I love the songs from mi li ye drama series (composed by li si song, li wei song) and that's ALL ABOUT IT. -

J-pop & K-pop can't be compared to S-Pop...can't be compared.
After watching the S-Pop shows...my conclusion is that the S'pore songwriters are indeed talented...the only sg singers worth noticing are those from dreamz fm , chen hanwei/cai lilian pair & dick lee.
Ever wondered why J-pop cds are sold in Singapore but S-pop cds are never sold in Japan? -

Usually my impression of local music is that it is very mainstream, very karaoke. Nothing special, nothing impressive de.... Sad to say also.

I don't chase artistes one, I purely just listen to the music and buy.
I even think some of madonna's and michael oldfield's songs are really good. -
jay was good when he first came out.. i tink the last song i liked from him is Yi Fu Xhi Ming.
Now he seems too comercialised liao.. But i nv reali like Cpop la.. Tink it's mostly trash.. Look at Cyndi, F4 and what nots..
I tink Tanya Chua is pretty good.. but ppl dun appreciate.. Too bad lo.. -
i am slightly annoyed when my friend gets all squealy over Kelly Poon though ... can't understand her fangirlness sometimes
one reason why i tend to prefer english songs, or rathe outside of mando pop is that the subjects of discussion is wider, and not restricted to what previous forumers says; love, heartreak etc... beisdes, i tend to have trouble hearing what some singers are singing bt ... pronounciation not too clear and my chinese is very bad
