Any Singaporean here ever get mistaken for PRC China girl?

This is a seriously IRRITATING phenomenon that started happening in recent years (maybe due to the influx of PRCs in Sg).
Basically, any 100% Singaporean female who happens to be:
- taller than 165 cm
- fair
- not typical spaghetti+jeans style
gets mistaken for a PRC.
And how do u know someone is mistaking u for a PRC?
- super sleazy taxi drivers who keep asking u where u from, even when u've repeated a gazillion times u r born n bred in choa chu kang
- aunties always staring at u like u killed their whole families
- go hawker centre n the uncles/aunties shout at u with very gei(fake) or forced mandarin "ni yao sherrrrr merrrrrrr?"
- go takashimaya n sometimes salesgals will whisper amongst themselves "aiyer, china girl also know how to shop here ah? hahaha....."
Wah lao, really kao bei kao bu kanasai man!! This is my country too ok! I m 4th generation peranakan somemore.
If u r a Singaporean guy n this happens to ur mother, wife or sister juz coz' they happen to not look typically S'porean, how would u feel?
Anyone here ever had similar experiences? -
Well know you know how it feels to be discriminated against...so don't bash the Chinese!

When i never put on make up go nearby to buy things that time alot of ppl will tot i PRC... Some will even stare at me angrily and turn to talk to other like saying that china girl dun go back china come here for what...

when i was studying , i hang out with some malaysia chinese , i go anywhere people ask if im malaysia
when i working , my workplace alot china ppl , spend few week of chatting , go anywhere people ask if im PRC , some just directly ask me from which state (ni shi na yi shen de) -
I just think its ridiculous that people would ask others what nationality they are.
I mean, does it even matter what nationality we are? We are all HUMANS!
To even ask someone his/her nationality is akin to DISCRIMINATION. -

if u have been to shanghai and beijing, u will know they are much more advanced than spore.

last time in poly, i was one of 4 singaporeans in a class where majority of my classmates r prc. it really freak me out when one of my lecturer who is also prc explaining some theories in mandarin when one of prc students who communicate in mandarin.Originally posted by Unidentified:nothing strange anyway

pple in sg may hate prc, but they still have to accept the fact dat there r more n more coming into sg. -

I have gone through similar experiences too...... i used to enjoy going around my neighbourhood to visit the market/kopitiam n buy food but ever since i started getting mistaken for a China girl, i don't even dare step out of my house unless i really have to! Can u imagine how traumatised I feel?
I really hate it when those perverted ah peks stare and smile at me, as if propositioning me!!
These days, i get really paranoid whenever i catch someone staring at me - immediately i'll wonder if the person is thinking that i m from China and worse, that i m up for sale ! -
