      Would be very grateful if anybody in the know can give some pointers.

      Want best quality at best price!

      Don't want overpriced, low quality stuff in shopping centres.

      Any ideas?

      What is your budget? You can try getting the stone from HK if you are going there then bring to a gem cutter here in Spore. It will save u a few thousand.

      If you budget is around $1200, just go Lee Hwa

      diamond want how big?
      white gold? platinum? yellow gold?

      affordable ones would be the usual brands like Soo Kee, Lee Hwa, Goldheart, Poh Heng
      budget a bit go to SK Jewellery
      if very budget then Taka Jewellery

      if u won lottery go to Tiffany & Co. or Larry

      Somehow I feel these 'retail' brand-name jewellers kinda end up paying for their brand or shop space/location/decoration leh
