... in that it will maintain peace and harmony....
A: 'The animal that goes 'meow meow' is a dog.
b: 'It is a dog' (acceptable)
b: 'You are wrong, it is a cat' (not acceptable)?
A: 'I tell you that it is a dog.'
b: 'According to the dictionary, it is a cat'. (acceptable)
b: 'You should look up the dictionary, did you look up the dictionary?' (not acceptable)?
A: 'Forget about the dictionary, I have a furry dog with a long curly tail that can leap up on top of my TV in one jump and for sure it goes 'meow meow'
b: 'That's a description of a cat'. (acceptable)
b: 'you have descriped a cat and you do not know it.' (not acceptable)?
A: 'It is my dog and I know my dog!'
b: 'You do not understand the definition of cat and dog' (not acceptable)?
True that it is (not acceptable) if you want to maintain peace and harmony?

[/b]Mr Yap, pardon my 2 cents worth.
1 cent.
Stop after Abb Ab.
For there's no need to further the discussion.
If one insist that Camelia Charles is a beauty in her own rights. Why need anyone dispute that ?
Everyone is entitled to their believes and POV.
2nd cents.
Change your approach.

Obviously you have not met forumners that continue to goad you time and again even when you ignore them... like that deathbait guy...
In the end I had to go on the offensive and drove him insane until he issued me threats... so you see, 'stop after Abb' is a nice sentiment that does not work on some people.

[/b]How about the use of words like "may" or "I think" aka "imo" so it doesn't sound like you're putting the other party down? Besides, you can never be sure that you are correct and he/she is wrong. It may turn out to be a cat after all. There's actually such an animal known as "cat-dog".

Ok nvm, something more realistic here.

More examples:
b2: Maybe you are correct, but it is a cat in my opinion.
b2: You may want to look up the dictionary on this. It says "cat" there.
b2: I think you may have described a cat and not know it.
b2: I think you may not have fully understand the definition of a cat and a dog.

true true. On the other hand, one cannot be too opinionated on every subject or the other party will have to give in all the time.
