what happens when food gets into your lungs?

  food get to the lungs??? nvr heard before leh. Is it you choke bcos food too big and you hurt ur lungs bcos coughing 2 much???? how can food get to lungs????

  cos i felt a deep burning in the part of my throat leading to my lungs but i suppressed it untuil it was gone because there was food in my mouth and i didnt want to drop food out from my mouth from coughing too much

  it's highly unlikely that food can get into anyone's lungs while eating. even if it does happen you will cough it out.

  it won't be called reflexes if you are able to suppress it.

  your lungs have its own digestive system...
  
  it will absorb the nutrients from the skin and use them for purposes like patching up holes in your lungs
  
  more food goes into lungs = bigger lungs = longer breath

  i heard this before...is serious...not a laughing matter...that one person got a bone...fish bone went into his lung...after sometime his lung was sliced open...zzz.so terrible...if food go in...u will cough nonstop...so ya...careful when eat...
