Can chinese educated people ( i.e people who converse in Chinese, study mostly cheena school) clique with English educated people? (speaks English at home, studies in english schs like SJI)
On the basis that they haf nice characters that is...
Is it possible? It sum how seems to me that their lifestyle vary too much to haf much to share with one another..
Wad do u think? ![]()
Nowadays only got English ed. What cheena school ? Look ppl no up ah ?
there's ALWAYS something that we have in common with other people no matter how different they SEEM.
and if you have bad character anyways, i dont know who the hell would 'get along' with you anyways...
my mum was chinese ed, and my dad was english ed
Dude, look,if you are here to start a flame war, u're looking in the wrong thread.
I nv say anything bout lookin down or wad. I'm just asking a question whether is it possible for dem to be good frens on the basis that their lifestyles and the conditions they are brought up are sumwhat different.

Gosh.
I'd say it is possible depending on the character of the two....unless the chinese fella have no idea of any english and the english fella has no idea of any chinese......
But there is always a medium that can attract the two....smiles.....
Last time got this jap guy and his sister live on the same apartment block as me......each time we pass by each other we used to look at each other......
I can tell you that wot brought us together to talk was my grandad ping pong ball.....
We were swimming and was playing with the ping pong ball which has a hole in it......somehow i dun really remember wot happened we became real close friends that we swam almost everyday together......he even showed me wot beyblade and final fantasy was...i know its a child's thing hell i was a child back then.....
It felt like a cultural exchange thing......We communicated in abit of jap, english and bahasa indonesia.......
I hope i get to contact him soon.....
Believe me if you're kids its easier to break the barriers of language.....all you need to do is share your toys and smile.....
I believe adults can do this too....
yea, it's possible. but you have to see if their characters click. like maybe if they have some common topics to talk about? or some common interest?

Orh...no flaming then
.
Aiyah it depends lah. Personally I'm fine with "both sides" and there are people like me as well..effectively billingual that is haha. Of course, on the extreme end i really do not get along well with Chinese who think that they are Ang Mohs and squeeky voiced Ah Bengs that talk too loud if you get what i mean.
Haha, my chinese ed friends talk to me in Chinese & I answer in English
Lol, still can lah. As long as we can understand each other properly ![]()
language isnt my main concern. cos it's quite easy to communicate with someone without speaking anyway. i've spent days with these russian kids who knew very little english. but we got along fine. just need to keep an open mind and be aware that what's normal to you might not be to them and vice versa...

It's ok u're not alone. No one likes that 2 type of ppl that u stated also. ![]()
me chinese ok, english ok, hokkien oso ok ![]()
My best friend is a cheena. I am a kantang.
Hope this helps.
there is no problem is you want to communicate because both parties will make the effort.
however if either side doesn't want to communicate then there will be failed communication.
Besides your example, there are many more examples of poor communication..
effective communication - is a handshake from both parties.

if you can't, it's not anything other than you being just a sociopath at heart...
My parents are Chinese ed, but I am English ed.
There is a difference in our thinking. No sure if it is due to generation gap though.
I only got problem getting along with racist ppl like TS...![]()
