The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred about 155 km (95 miles) south-southwest of Padang at 7:46 AM MST today, Feb 24, 2008 (9:46 PM local time in Indonesia). A PRELIMINARY MAGNITUDE OF 6.6 WAS COMPUTED FOR THIS EARTHQUAKE. The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. No reports of damage or casualties have been received at this time. me too....so far oi have escaped feeling tremors twice....once when i was in indonesia when my mom was at the apartment and i was swimming.....when i went up they told me everything like the ceiling lamp shake like hell and stuffs......
second was when my mom was at home and i was busy playing basketball.....

Tremors felt in various parts of Singapore Tuesday morning
SINGAPORE: Tremors were felt in Geylang, Marine Parade and St George’s Lane Tuesday morning.
MediaCorp’s hotline received several calls informing it of tremors in these areas.
The National Environment Agency said the 6.9—magnitude earthquake struck off Indonesia’s Southern Sumatra island, which is about 580km from Singapore, was detected at 5.02am local time.
Sumatra island was rocked by two powerful aftershocks in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with local tsunami alerts being issued on both occasions, the US Geological Survey said. — CNA/ac
