    • The Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon Medical in Orchard Rd has been advertising aggresively with price of about $2700 for both eyes. But lasik without blade(intralase-blade free) will be $3200 for both eyes.I am having short sightness and “Lau Hua” and they claim will undercorrect my vision so I can see both far and near,ie I don’t get near perfect vision u nlike those with myopia(short sightedness) only. The clinic also provides 2 years of free enhancement.Heard that only after the night of surgery(slight discomfort like sand in eyes, after that will be ok) the next day most people will be off to work.I am worried that for >40 years old ,cataract and further deterioration will set in soon after surgery and defeats the purpose as one may still needs reading glasses for near work.I am a teacher, please share your experiences. Thanks

    • I intend to go Lasik probably in June this year more for sports reasons rather than cosmetics reasons.Find it cumbersome to have something between the ridge of the nose, coming out of aircon room, eating hot bowl of noddles, etc.

It seems there is not much negative feedbacks and most pple lamented after the surgery that they shd hve opted for it long ago.Understand feeling of light sand in the eyes and tearing for 1-2 days and some got halo effect at night but these problems go off after ab a month.

Anyone here has friends or relatives who hve very negative feedback from LASIK? So far nobody goes blind and of course every surgery carries risk.My neighbour also claimed that a respected LASIK suegeon claimed now the cost $2700 to $3000 is quite low already and unlikley to go any lower

    • my sister went for it last year. now she has pretty good vision although not 6/6. BUT now she suffers from poor vision in dark places (night blindness), eg: multi storey carparks, cinemas. now she hardly drives at night too.  Are u sure u want that?

Its better not to hear about any negative feedbacks otherwise it might just prevent you from doing LASIK which is what you really want but then again, remember there's always a risk in every surgery though

What about side effect? Is there any? Heard that LASIK can only be done once.

    • I did mine at the Lasik Clinic around November.. So far no side effects.. they will test your eye sight upon every check up.. if it needs correction, they will do it again for free.. just continue using eye drops everyday for a few months cause it might get extra dry after the surgery..
