  7 girls x 7 bags = 49 bags

  49 bags x 7 big cats each = 343 big cats

  343 big cats x 4 legs each = 1372 big cat legs

  343 big cats x 7 smaller cat = 2401 smaller cat legs

  2401 smaller cat legs x 4 legs = 9604 smaller cat legs

  7 kids x 2 legs = 14 kids legs

  1372 big cat legs + 9604 smaller cat legs + 14 kids legs = 10990 legs.

  one gal = 2 legs

  one gal = 7 bags = 7 big cats = 28 x 7 = 196 legs

  7 big cats carries 7 smaller cats = inside big cats tummy.. so no leg yet..

   

  so, one gal = 2 legs.

       49 big cats = 196 legs

       total = 198 legs for one gal

   

   7 gals = 7 x 198 = 1386 legs

   

  smaller cats doesnt count cuz a bigger cat cant carry all of them with mouth but for sure she can carry the smaller cats inside her tummy. so smaller cat's leg are not counted.

  Only 14 legs since there are only 7 girls with legs resting on the bus. All the cats are inside the bags
