Leaders definitely dun drop from the sky....so they are born (ok dun stone me).
Some leaders are born cos they pick up faster, it's their characteristics to dominate and control, etc...
Some leaders are made cos they have to survive, to complete a task.
And then you intriduced the word 'great ' to leadership. Now great leaders are born, trained, exposed, and fated to live out their lives.
What is your definition of a great leader?

hmmm...responsibility......yeah it is hard.....but sometimes its the people also who gives the leader a hard time......indonesia is one case......leaders cannot make good descitions becoz the people dun wan to compromise.......instead, the people demand the unrealistic.......hmmm......the world is full of shit sometimes....but one thing i like there and india is that gangsters are more afraid of students then the police......coz the gangsters could easily be outnumbered by a whole school.....wakakaka

everyone is born with some leadership qualities, some more some less. so have to be harnessed with training, tested through scenarios before you can see anybody's leadership.
like the old saying, "everyone's a leader of their own life." You can always try to lead, but got people follow or not is another issue :)

A real top leader I believe is inborn....a general for instance led his men to ultimate victory against all odds
