Would you prefer your friend/bestie/partner to be EXACTLY the SAME as you? i.e same hobbies, same lifestyle, same likes and dislikes.

Would you prefer your friend/bestie/partner to be SIMILAR TO you? i.e share a little similiarities; different.

Would you prefer your friend/bestie/partner to be TOTALLY DIFFERENT from you? ie. nothing in common at all?

1 & 3, can yak all day on our similarities ma... then difference can settle the whole day.

For me, I'd like someone whom is similar to me. Doesn't matter 20% or 40%, I think it's the difference in a friendship/relationship that makes it interesting.
Afterall, it's about learning from each other and growing together mah.. It's not just about handling the differences.. but exploring the differences.. who knows you might like it?

similar. the similarities between us that keeps us going and sharing common ground creates conversation easily. on the other hand, being exactly the same is monotonous cos we can easily read each other.a few differences creates variety and surprises. variety is the spice of life.

totally different is confirm out.
for buddy/partner, i want the person to be of the same lifestyle as me (night type)
for hobbies will be good if similar, also similar music taste. communication wise is very impt. can talk crap together.for gf/love interest, similar lifestyle too. But some differences will be good.
i like the type that holds the same perception of life as me. it's not easy to find. most are the typical types.. im the adventure type.

Congruent is ok with me, but so far I haven't met someone with exactly the same interests. What are the odds anyway...
Similar seems to be the neutral non-extreme answer. My best friends all have somewhat similar interests as me with some differences.
As for totally different ppl, it would be very hard to even strike a decent conversation...so no...

Bits of smilarities and differences although do spice up life, but it too adds conflicts when problem cannot be resolve properly.
I would choose congruent for a community of like-minded friends, a similarity approach for my spouse and a congregation of all three for ordinary friends or acquaintance.
