    • My old UOB debit card is expiring soon. Thinking of changing over to any DBS/POSB credit/debit card since I've a POSB card. Don't want to keep 2 separate account.

      Which one should I go for?

      The main point of the card is the make overseas purchases. Hence international transaction fees and exchange rate charges are important.

      Second point is probably which has the best credit card points redeemption.

    • For Credit Cards: UOB was the best with the most comprehensive points redemptions thingy.

    • it all depends on what u want out of a credit card.   If you travel often, it would be good if you possess credit cards from citibank, amex credit card.   UOB has its limit though there are a number of perks for using the card.    I have never been successful to use UOB card to purchase items online at the same time on the same day.   Strange, and I had not reached my credit limit at all when I made the purchase.

    • go extort the company for free gifts..

      and never pay a cent for subscriptions.. just pay up in full, cut them up when they demand subscriptions... go to another bank, extort them for free gifts... and repeat..

      UOB NOW Debit Card is an ez-link card, a debit card and an ATM card all rolled into one. Now you can travel, shop and do everything with just one card!

      here ::: http://www.uobgroup.com/pages/personal/cards/debit/debitnow_hme.html

      The card is damn fugly. So fugly that I'm going to snip it into two once I get another card. They even put the word "Platinum" at the side, so embarrassing lah. =| it's just a normal debit card, what's with the "Platinum"... ugh.

      I refuse to use anything this ugly.

      Exchange rates are determined by the card company (VISA, Mastercard) not by the bank.

      On so-called international txn fees wise, in SG's context, it is very similar between banks.

      There is no best credit card points redeemption. Different restaurants or retail stores may  have more points for certain banks' cards. Hence it depends on what stores you frequented.

      Personally, I travel overseas with 2 credit cards. One VISA, one Mastercard. Unlike SG, some stores overseas do not accept both VISA system cards and master cards.

      Locally, I usually bring a UOB, a citibank, dbs n hsbc.

      Yah totally agree with you. It's just a red colour with the NOW in black bold letters. Total turn off. I still haven't go and activate the card.
