Bugis in the 70s

  I keep hearing about the "old Bugis" . Does anyone have any good memories to tell me about? What was it like back then before it got all cleaned up? Are any of the same buildings/hawkers/people still around? What was the coolest place to hang out back then? Maybe you can ask your parents if you're too young!!!

  last time i studied history, they said bugis pple come from indonesia, perhap you can go indonesia and ask them.

  But for people last time, the food street along Bugis is heaven. I went to Taiwan and I understood why. It's dirty, but it's interesting. And there's lots of nice food.
