  Wellington ( Australia )

  and got more but i cant recall..

   

  any history about Sembawang aka Lil Australia?

  both christchurch and wellington are places in new zealand....maybe you are too young to know that sembawang was a navy port catering to the allied forces...that area served many ang mohs hence the names in that area were predominantly ang moh sounding...

  lot's of anz troops are based there previously...places like dippe barracks, which is opposite khatib is another very south pac name.

  Go read up on Sembawang's past. Port trading, military encampments and all.

  There's a Montreal Drive as well. But I think that sounds Canadian. Lol.

  YEs, it is more England than australia in sembawang.  

  to add to your list :  Norfolk Road, Suffolk, Carlisle, worcester, gloucester, oxford, bristol, farrer park.      LKY stayed in Norfolk road before.

  actually, sembawang is one of my favourite places in singapore. it's idyllic compares to woodlands or yishun. a lot of pretty looking minahs resides in sembawang and sembawang park is a cool place to be, pak tor or just picnic.

  the places are named after places/people of the British Empire

   

  theres Jamaica Rd /Falklands Rd(South America)/Montreal Dr(sounds like Canada)

  Lagos Circle(Nigeria) there, there used to be Kowloon Road & Delhi Road.

   

  Old Nelson Road is named after Lord Viscount Nelson (shd be correct)..

   

  you should check out the old ANZAC barracks (now apartments) at Portsdown Road, theyre named in that order too
