OK I am an idiot when it comes to using the camera for shooting other than taking pictures for fun.
Help! I need to take sharp pictures of whitish objects inside a petri dish
or
You can see from the images that there is reflection.
So how do I take the picture of what is inside, which is whitish (making it more difficult), so that I get really sharp and detailed pictures.
Now when I take the pictures, it is fuzzy and full of reflections.
I am not into photography and so I do not want to spend money on expensive cameras.
If you can tell me how to do it, set the correct settings for Sony Cyber Shot DSC-120W
DSC-W120 : Manuals : Support : Sony Singapore
and principles of taking good pictures inside glass containers, petri dishes
I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance
Can you place the dish on top of a dark or black cloth so that the whitish object would stand out? It might help a bit if you illuminate the black cloth from underneath it...like illuminate (Bottom) -> black cloth -> whitish object -> your camera (Top)
Not sure if your camera got super macro mode or not?
If it has...you can take the picture of the whitish object on super macro mode in full resolution then use any image editing software to stretch the picture size by 200%?
I'm not expert in photography, but I'll try it if I were you. ![]()

Thanks, I tried that as well. I tried so many things I am getting really fed up. That is why I am asking for expert advice. People that knows EXACTLY what to do. Try this, try that, believe me, I have been trying for a really long time.
What I have not been doing is reading up articles gleaned from the internet. I think this way might be faster, if someone that knows offers his advice out of the goodness of his heart.
I don't know how many articles I have to read before I find out what to do.
Sure if I spend money on a camera that has micro mode and manual zoom lens, that might work but before I take that step, I want to explore all possibilities.
OK maybe a more specific question that I could not find from the DSC-120W manuals. How to get the lens provided to be fully manual instead of automatic or semi automatic and how do I manually adjust the focus?
If I manually. if I can manually adjust the focus, how do I tell if I have the right focus, the very small viewfinder, the one you look through with your eyes, seems woefully inadequate.
Thanks in advance
