Dont u know that Singapore is 13 per cent Cantonese? I have enough of these accusations. I read from a page in sggirls.com about a girl who had cantonese background. But then some idiots straightaway said that shes a hong kee. Thats so generalizing! Shes an American! Btw, most of the chinese in america, canada, UK, australia are Cantonese. Does that mean that they are from Hong Kong too? Dont u know that there is a bigger arse province about Hong Kong called Canton?

in short: we r rojak pplOriginally posted by Honeybunz:Not just Singaporeans are stereotying lah. Everywhere, everybody is.
The last time I went to USA. I stayed in a motel near LA Chinatown. I asked the hotel guy how to dial out to overseas from the room phone. He gave me the country code to China.
When I went shopping in HK, the people thought I came from some ang moh countries, even though I spoke their language.
In Singapore, people think that I'm from HK, cuz I love to speak Cantonese. But when I speak Mandarin, people think that I am educated in China.
Nothing wrong with people thinking that you're from HK, Australia, or whatever country. It's nothing insulting. Unless people say you're from Afghanistan or Iraq.
