recently there are loads of ads on anti-smoking.
any comments ?

smokers suxs, period!!
-they dirty the place
- pollute the air
- make ppl very hard to breathe, especially asthma ppl
- have no discipline to quit smoking
- and many many other bad points ........... -

I think tt's coz there's a quit smoking wk/mth.

But it definitely isn't helping me.
I think the ads r more useful for ppl who does hv the intention of quiting. Especially so coz some of the ads provides quitline numberz for ppl to call. It creates more awareness of the various "helps" available to ppl who already hv the intentions to quit.
To seasoned smokers like me......
The ads r just a waste of taxpayers' $$ -

i always believe to stop ppl from smoking, STOP selling cigarrette to public loh. Did gov impose? nope. Y? selling cigarette is a GOOD source of revenue mah.

no, the ad campaign hasn't affected my smoking habits at all.
now getting out of point:
to those who hate smokers, i'm one, and i'll get out of ur way. but if u wanna throw up flames, i'm sure i can find something i hate about u too. altho there's nothing at the moment.
to that person that blatantly hates people they haven't met or spoken to, i'd like to see how u react to finding cigarettes in your son's drawer next time. make sure u disown him and hate him too.
i'd like to see u get a job, finding out ur boss smokes, and quitting becos u can't stand smokers.
i'd like to see u go into a club, go tell off the first ah beng that lights up, and then get the sh[/i]it bashed out of u.
i'm not saying smoking is good, in fact, as a smoker, i do say/admit it is bad, but hate the habit, NOT the person. i'm sure u're perfect, huh? -

Totally agree, if non-smokers breathe in the 2nd hand smoke, it will harm them more then the smokers. Whats the kick of smoking, no benifits.

Anyway, there really no way to stop smoking completely. Yes, smoking is harmful to health, but the tax which the government has collected from it, is huge.

smoking or not realli is up to a person... whether or not the ads help to stop ppl from starting or help ppl to wan to quit, think they haf to do some survey to find out. i guess there is an effect. else they wont be doing all the ads incessantly, all around the world.
for me, altho i smoke, somehow i am able to not smoke if i dun wan to, and its been like that for one year + liao. so i guess tt great!

Lets see, if there no Geylang, there wont be a common standard location for such activities and such activities can be carried out in any part of the country which make it hard to control it. But by making Geylang the standard location for such activities, it is easier to control, example nos of prosititutes, health, doing raid on those prosititutes with no license (free lance). -
which reminds me.. think i'll go have a smoke...
it's a personal choice.. no one is affected by it...
