Maybe that's the way the world is and you can't do anything about it.Originally posted by Parka:In a Straits times article today, it says that more students are opting for Poly instead of JC.
Stating reasons like the revised A-levels are too tough and Poly have better job prospects.
I must admit that the reasons are fairly true......at least that's what I think.
Besides, I feel that the 2 years in JC are practically useless. The subjects there are ......not very useful.
What can't one take all the necessary subjects in universities?
true.. for those who r nt sure or dun wana go university, it's better u go poly, cos a poly diploma certainly worth more than a a'level cert.. bt once u r in poly, u haf to be 1 of the top student in order to go university.. there's pros n consOriginally posted by Parka:In a Straits times article today, it says that more students are opting for Poly instead of JC.

Originally posted by NeonTetra:A level cert is a ticket to a degree in University. By itself u cannot do anything......Poly diploma can be use on its own....better if backed by a degree....thats the difference
Originally posted by NeonTetra:but the 2 yrs in jc is a nice and wonderful experience.....gives us happy memories of being young?
actually not true... i dunno about other courses, but i'm a business diploma holder.. going to uni.. the most they give u some exemptions in certain modules, but they dun cut short one yr for u... unless u r taking a private degree from places like SIM or MDIS.Originally posted by Cerebral_Assassin:i took the JC route...but given a choice again, i might choose poly.
think of it.....now more opportunities to get into Uni from poly. and 3yrs in poly, n u can cut short 1 yr in uni studies for some 4yr courses. so total 6yrs to get degree. take jc route sama sama 2+4.
go poly u get 1/2 a stepping stone in case something goes wrong in between. go jc fail badly waste 2 yrs or left stranded. experience wise, jc ppl r better in maths/theory part because foundation stronger. poly r better in practical. poly cost more, whereas jc much cheaper.
not finding fault with u but plz highlight the whole proper phrase and not just those in redOriginally posted by cAr|n:actually not true... i dunno about other courses, but i'm a business diploma holder.. going to uni.. the most they give u some exemptions in certain modules, but they dun cut short one yr for u... unless u r taking a private degree from places like SIM or MDIS.
i dun regret going to poly.. although i believe jc life to be more fun.. i believe poly builds character too.. got to go through lots of projects and it's not as easy doing well in poly since it's made up of so many modules and projects
and i really hate those pple who say poly no use.. cannot go uni!!! my uncle is one of them... hmphF!! if u pass ur A levels but ur score doesn't get u to the degree course that u want, then wat's the point of getting a degree?? u r going to be stuck with this job for life man!!
meaning?Originally posted by FaTe_TwisTer:Those whu r suppose to go JC pls dont take up the "Bandwith" of Poly pls...![]()
I think your calculation not 100% correct.Originally posted by Cerebral_Assassin:3yrs in poly, n u can cut short 1 yr in uni studies for some 4yr courses. so total 6yrs to get degree. take jc route sama sama 2+4.
