when your friend ask you out for kopi or makan,

seriously i dun really like the idea too... i feel its like exploiting ppl like that..esp aunties for co that sells what antoh view as crap. although i have seen aunties making $$ out from it.
in the past it was called pyramid but then it was ban now they come out this thing call mutli-level marketing or netwrok marketing (are they the same thing?) which was conveyed tome that they might soon have such courses avail in nus for studies, as a module like marketing. -
see what they sell ... I now trying one products too not bad ... see what you want if good than you buy if not reject ...

pyramid is based on investing in a product..
and u get returns in cash benefit.
mlm or network marketing is based on selling products at 3-4 times the product cost. -

before u get the wrong idea, no model is bad model. afterall, business is about earning money legitimately.
but comparing conventional model to network marketing, u are less tempted to exploit ur friends and relatives. -

in network marketing there are four main type,
1. MultiLevel Marketing(we known as MLM)
2. Franchising
3. Referral
4. Direct Sales
i hope it clear all your mind that MLM and network marketing differences -
In MLM u must be at the top. If u are down there somewhere 5th downline and below, forget it.
Funny how they always have already very high profile and rich person at the top. -
well, it depends how hardworking are yoyu -
franchising and direct selling should be quite fine I guess. But MLM and referral those kind I think not very good.
Franchising and direct selling seems to be more welcomed. Like those beauty things Nuskin, see so many women buy and then later become the direct sellers themselves. And their products really help some people. Tupperware those kind of things our mothers always buy also direct selling (though a lot can be found in supermarkets also). I think most direct selling are for beauty and health supplements products, others will be household things. -

then out of da blue her so called manager (if tats wat hes called) took out da form and 'forced' mi into putting down my signature

jus my 2 cents worth of opinion.
i think referrals are fine too. Jus imagine, if you noe someone who is looking for a house. And you also have a friend who's a property agent. You may like to link the two together, and who noes a successful transaction may happen.
And if your fren gives you a referral fee, he may just want to thank you. To some others, they may not want to feel like they "owe" someone, hence the fee.
As for MLM, I think the pressuring part is simply irresponsible. People should have their time to consider before committing. And there are a couple of MLM that does not promote and claim that their products are beneficial to you. Instead they only have a range of products that you would normally use, jus like in a provision shop. Hence, you buy your daily necessities from them instead. However, you still have to share it with others before you rise up the hierarchy.
I reckon at the end of the day, anyone considring a MLM will have to see if he/she feels comfortable with the modus operandi of the company. -

I was approached recently by this company that has can convert my expenses into income (ala Amway similar). The biggest difference here is that they could partner with global MNCs from BAnking to Telecom to Insurance etc. And when you spend with these partners, it accrues towards your income too. Sounds OK, right? But I still haven't decided. Sigh.. -

haha...actually networking can be fun.. make more friends... i m in this coy which we dun do forcing... tats y i never lose any friends becos of networking... take a look at macdonalds they r doing networking and u all still buy their product!!! now what have u got to say???

but macdonald is a food industry, it's different case
i've been to one, selling aroma therapy products, the way they promote it sound damn good, i was almost lured by the money, money, money.
the ppl giving talks are damn good, they use human's greedy mentality to lure ppl to join, by saying company can give u car, holiday trips, whatever...
but my frens stopped me.. bcoz they say there is no free lunch in the world
