it doesn't have to make you high to impair your judgement.
i don't know you personally so i'm not really qualified to make any conclusions...
from a stranger's point of view,
1. you're still on probation -> still rather tender when it comes to driving experiences (of course there are ppl who drives around even before they get their license)
2. you were drinking. late at night? (deduced from drinking & road blocks) -> combination of alcohol and fatigue can be lethal
all in all, i would say you got away easy this time. not so much in the legal issues, but more on a conscience side. if an accident actually happened while you are driving under such conditions, do you think you can live with yourself knowing that it could have been avoided? (worse if you survived and somebody else got injured, maimed, killed)
