Tip of advice: When you install winamp, choose no connection to internet. You have to compromise not using the CDDB feature though.Originally posted by Parka:even opening winamp requires sending information through the web.

That's the sickening thing about using firewall...U know there is an intrusion attempt...but all U can see is just IP...dunno if U want the intrusion or not....but then I think the more important thing is to know what is going out of your computer...Originally posted by Parka:Hmmmm...
Just installed a firewall on my machine.
And it has blocked off lots of intrusion. Don't know whether they are legal or not.
Only say their IP address only, not their names.

Try Sygate Personal Firewall. Don't ask me if its good. I installed it, didn't touch it and deleted it. It was free.Originally posted by sgboy2004:any good firewall software to recommend???

why u deleted it then?Originally posted by ditzy:Try Sygate Personal Firewall. Don't ask me if its good. I installed it, didn't touch it and deleted it. It was free.

Coz I never use firewall programs, so intrusive. So never use, means delete loh. I'm behind a router firewall and a network switch. Just sending files via icq is a headache already.Originally posted by sgboy2004:
what question did you ask? i don't see any question from youOriginally posted by bismarck:someone ans my Q pls
Norton systemworks can't do sh|t. It'll probably screw up ur HDD defragging for starters, mess up system dlls. Then when it really screws up something, u delete it and it just tells u a whole lot of bu||sh|t.Originally posted by bismarck:not sure if i got a firewall or not :p
installed norton 2003 systemworks though
Norton systemworks 2003 does not give you firewall protection. Its a suite of applications that optimizes your system(my foot). My experience with using it was nonetheless unfullfilling. Screwed up my HDD defragging. Played with essential system dlls. Even deleting the software takes an eternity. So much for symantec.
