3rd Language

besides English & Mother Tongue...if u are to take up a 3rd language...which one will u choose?
and why? -
Japanese as i like anime and wish to understand what they speaking about in their native voice instead of relying on subtitles,heheeh

But i have no affinity with Jap,used to take it as 3rd language in Poly,flunked miserably,ahaha

Probably French (cos I've actually taken it before since I was 7 years old....hee hee hee!!). But if it were to be a totally NEW language which I haven't learned before,then probably Hokkien? I dunno!! It's a little similar to Thai you see,and I can speak Thai!! (I'm part Thai). Oh whatever!!!! I already speak English,Thai,Malay AND French anyway!! Why da hell would I wanna learn a new language for?? Hee hee hee....

, cos its frequently used in S'pore, more realistic i suppose..... -
I don't mind Malay,but i know a bit of malay as sometimes i speak it at home with my grandma,but it's worse than 1/4 cooked,ahaha

I always wanted to take French or Japanese but never realy got down to it. Tried to apply for them during sec sch days as a 3rd language but was offered to take up German instead. In a fit of anger (because they refuse to give me wither of my 2 top choices), I gave up the chance to take German as well.

my ex-classmate learn Tamil at a language sch so as to communicate wif her grandmother (Indian)..
in school she took higher chinese one leh...

Malay would be a more practical choice if a 3rd language is needed. As we meet Malays almost everyday in Singapore. Itz easier to know whether they are swearing or praising u!
My preferences of languages:
1) Malay
2) Tamil
3) Japanese
4) French -

wow so many ppl took french! me too,but like u ppl, mine is limited to. Je peux parler seulement un peu.
i like languages! if only i m talented enuf,i'll take french,jap, hokkien,cos mine sucks,and sign language! -
i think the best language that we all need to learn is body language!!!

i used to learn japanese for fun for about 1 yrs. i can get involved in simple daily spoken japanese...
and now..taking up french as general electives in sch..its intermediate level now.
i love learning languages.
