I used to be fron a JC, im re-taking my A levels. I was comparing the difference. I do have my own resources to study for my A levels that is why I realised that the rest of my schoolmates are being left out and am speaking for them. I also hope that people will not be fooled by the promising advertisements made by the school as it is a whole bunch of crap. In their asvertisements, they like to emphasise on how each student is able to receive individual attention and how stress free their studying enviroment is.
My previous article is just a precaution to people who are having intensions to enrol in the school.

The following article is a real problem experienced by a personal friend.
1 and a half years ago in 2000, PJC accepted an overage student from another JC to its first batch of J1 students. The school accepted him.
One day, during the year (around August), this student was on the way to a medical clinic during school hours. He took the MRT there, on the way out of the control station; he was halted and was requested to surrender his Student Pass by a MRT officer. He did have the validity year sticker but his Student Pass stated only his secondary school as his "PJC" sticker was washed off by the washing machine earlier. The officer did not believe his reason and called up the school and asked if he was a student of PJC, however when the clerk went thru the records, he/she said that he does not exist.
The officer then confiscated the Student Pass and told him a letter would be sent to his home.
This student had been consistent in his work and claimed to have studied very hard for his promotional exams for that year. However, he was not promoted. He was nonplussed and refused to accept it and requested to see his exam papers. Uncommonly, the school declined his request even on an exception basis. He left the school feeling puzzled and demoralized.
Almost 1 and a half years later, he received a letter of warrant for an arrest regarding the Student Pass matter. He was surprised, as he has already forgotten about it. He was angry because he was not at fault. He was even more upset that he and his father had to take a precious day leave from work to settle something, which he did not do.
He is planning to report this matter to the LTA as well as to the MP of his estate.
This whole situation seems to be a conspiracy amongst the PJC admin. And has caused gratuitous mental stress and a waste of time and money to the student and his father.
Was this student ever registered in the school? Did the school overlooked his age but continued to "play" along? Or was it just a "hoo ha" the clerk made and that he really flunked his exams? But why did the school refused to let him have even a glance at his exams papers?
The story continues once the MP replies.

I am having alot of problems which I cannot solve in my life. I wanna end it. But there are so many things stopping me. Everytime when I am about to slash my wrist, I will think about my aged grandmother who has taken care of me for the last 20 years, my whole life and I will think about my mom who sacrificed so much for me at the expense of her own needs. However I believe that these thoughts will not overcome my sucidal act eventually.
Meanwhile, I am trying to get my hands on sleeping pills because I want to die in my sleep in my room. To me my bedroom is my asylum where I wanna dwell for eternity.
I love my family and my comfortable life but I hate myself and my problems.

No doubt that this school looks posh, with air-conditioned classrooms and security guards marching around. The school fees are just as posh too.(School feels are like 500 times more then government school)
Students who register in the school are either clueless foreigners or overaged reject local students. (sadly I am one of them). I am attending a pre-u course which is equivilent to the local JC 2 year course.
Teachers are totally disconnected with the MOE since they claim that the MOE discriminate them. They try to teach according to the syllabus which they downloaded from the moe website at www.moe.edu.sg .They are so useless at preparing the Pre U students for their A levels. I can safely say that like the students, they are reject teachers. No teacher in the school bothers to prepare booklets of notes unlike the local JCs, they expect you to learn with the little points they make in class and the pathetic worksheets they handout.
The tutorials range from 2 to 25 students per class. This should encourage the teacher to give individual attention to the students but they dont. The class consist of "fast" and "slow" students, they dont bother about the "slow" ones, expecting them to catch up by themselves.
They dont offer many sports and uses the canteen as a gym, an assembly hall, a badminton court and what have you not. Making the students who are having lunch fearful of flying shuttle cocks ending in their meals.
Sigh! If only I can get a refund. I'd rather "SOW TOH KAH" then study here.
