hell... The gov can advocate for even 1 day work week for all they want when in real fact, if you don't want to work 6 days week plus OT on most days, then the employer will find ways to get rid of you. With little labor law protection plus minimum union support, employees are for the slaughter!
Talk about 5 days work-week is cheap.
Once again, the 66% must be very very very happy AGAIN! (wonder if they were slaves in their previous lives)... hmm

Just a quick survey.
If a Singapore Minister and a no-body, not famous average Singaporean are drowning, who will you save?
You are a good swimmer, and no one else is around other than you and the above 2 persons. You only have time to save 1 person and ASSUMING you want to save 1 person.Edited by Cindyfeh 16 May `07, 11:09PM

We have seen complains like yours on numerous occassions whether its in the news or here.

Any, I agreed that with the record profit, SBS shouldn't have increased its bus fare in the first place. Same logic to SMRT and whatever temasek or GLC linked conpanies.

Yes, I think they are underpaid.
Hopefully their pay will rise and "encourage" them to solve the mx-5 killer case.

Secondly, if they are in the low income group, they get huge subsidies from the government if they rent a HDB flat. For incomes between S$801 to S$1,000, the monthly rent is only 20% of the market rent at the point of allocation. If they earn between $1000 and 2000, the rental is only 30% for the first 2 years. Subsequent renewals are still heavily subsidised.

The problem is that many Singaporeans overstretch themselves. Why buy a 5-room flat when they cannot afford it? They have got themselves to blame..Historian eh?
Why don't we go further back in time?
Lets go all the way back to the family's fore fathers and quote:
"They would not be in this situation if they were borned in Sweden or some European states".

Since the MPs are so die hard on getting high pay and they said the private sector pays them well, then why not they all go back to private sector?
I don't mind them all resigning. They can be quitters for all I care.
I am sure there are many who can fill in their shoes.

Brilliant!
Like that migration rate will drop drastically.
Hopefully I can dream of that scenario tonight...
I can imagine, the day of merger with Australia is the day of mega lawsuits against the "you-know-whos"...
So excited!
Going to sleep soon!

Since you think Brown Sundays won't work out, do you have any better suggestions?
Or are you like what the pappies said, just plain "Whiners and Complainers" who only complains without taking any initiative to do anything?
Opps, I am not totally right in the above accusation. You did something! You poored cold water over the Brown Sundays initiative.
