    • Hi Jeraldine

What project are you doing? school project?

If you are proposing to use eco friendly laptops, then I think it should apply to a wider group of users, not just schools only. But eco friendly laptops first should be available in the market. If not, it is just an idea which sounds good but unfeasible.

If the objective of your project is to cut down the usage of paper, then I think there are also many ways to do it, like burning lesson materials into CD, print on double side etc, educating students on saving paper etc. ; )

    • Just read the news. I’m confused by what Tharman said. He cautioned that companies giving more wages to help workers cope with higher cost of living will lead to another round inflation.

But he also pointed out that the lasting solution to inflation is to continue with efforts to help workers upgrade their skills and earn better wages. This will not lead to inflation meh?

With the rising cost of living, how to survive in SG huh? Govt giving limited help. Companies now also being warned not to give wages increase.  ; (

    • Miss_Happy,

You are right, change S$50 to rupiah is more than enough. In fact, the things there are not really that cheap, a normal t-shirt costs about S$20-30. Might well as buy in SG haha.

Overall my stay at batam view beach resort is not bad. The scenery (we were given a sea view room) is nice and the room is cosy. The staff are friendly too! But, the only thing was there were not too few ppl (maybe we went at the wrong time?)

Initally, I thought the beach would be filled with ppl playing sea sports or water activities, but it was empty when we went there...really, no ppl at all, very very quiet. The cafe where we had our dinner was also very quiet, only a few people in a big cafe.

Maybe this resort is too isolated from city area, that's why not many ppl stay there. All our activities were confined within the resort. If you like a quiet place to relax or to be with your love ones, then this resort is a recommended choice. If not, I think you should consider other hotels/resorts that are near the city.

    • I think 26 seater doesn't have personal tv. Anyway, due to high oil prices, they have increased the fuel surchage. I went there last month and pay $5 only. Now it's $14.

    • I also prefer old buses. More comfortable and stable. The new buses are lousy...narrow passageway, raised platform that is dangerous to the elderly etc. Just wrote a feedback to SBS, suggesting to them to improve the interior layout of the new buses. Let's wait for their rely.

    • I feel happy for hady cos he represents singapore. I think his performance last night was much better than sat, he was enjoying the performance.

Even though his voice may not be the best among the contestants, he has shown that he is a versatile singer, singing different types of song. He also knows how to use his smile to interact with the audience, maybe that's why they vote for him.

    • Why they cant produce Wu Xia drama anymore?

Well, I personally think is because local directors / producers dont really know much about ancient china. In fact, they dont know much about china's history and culture. That's why they cant produce such drama.

Another possibility is that they want to cut cost. Wu Xia drama more expensive to produce. Drama on family theme cheaper right? Actor wear singlet, shorts, hair messy can act liao. Very Happy

    • The reason why last time they could produce better shows is because they hire producers & script writers from HK e.g. Jiang Long. This is why they can also produce many wu xiang pian / dramas related to china history e.g. Dao Ri Ying Xiong Zhuan, Shao Nian Ying Xiong etc. Very Happy

Now this group of foreign talents is in China or back in HK, our local producers & script writers cannot match their standard, only know how to write about family quarrel, neighbours quarrel etc. Sad

Should be ministers and top civil servants donate lah. Ordinary civil servants like Diploma, O and A levels holders dont earn a lot you know. Now worst still, must be good performers, then can get pay increment.

    • I was watching the old drama series on ch 8 recently and found that Wang Yu Qing was quite yan dao when he was young. Don’t get the wrong idea, I am not gay haha.

Actually I still feel that the actors in those days are much better looking than the current xiao sheng. Even those not very yan dao also got xing ge e.g. Chen Tian Wen.

If media corp were to ask me to vote for the most yan dao sg actor,
I think my no. 1 will go to Wang Yu Qing, followed by Li Nan Xing and Huang Wen Yong (when they in their 20s hehe)

How abt you? Who do you think is the most handsome actor in media corp?

Now I know why “fishy” also means “in suspicion”.
You thought the hole smells nice and you smell it
It got a fishy smell, and you say “I smell something fishy” (suspicious)
And you smell it again to confirm.
