Read carefully. SGD11k is expenditure not covered in the IAPT programme fees. That means to say, the IAPT programme is of a different expense. May cost up to SGD100k or more.
SGD11k not even enough to train you for a PPL in Singapore.
This IAPT programme is rather similar to those offered in Australia flying schools as it is CASA governed.

Well, same case here for me as bro WeetWeet. I did not make it to OCS. I could not 'tahan' the wayangness within the platoon and I did not see the need to out-wayang my platoon mates just to get into OCS. Anyway, BMT was just 2 months and if the SAF thinks it could pick quality talent from just 2 months worth of evaluation then good luck to them. However, during my last few weeks in SISPEC BSLC, they decided to call me down for an interview. I am not too sure why the last minute decision though.
Anyway, I went for the interview and was rejected. I was asked by a COL many questions on why I was not selected for OCS. He particularly arrowed me a lot of questions on my BMT and SISPEC performance. I was also asked, "Do you know that to become a pilot, you need to make it to OCS and become an officer?" I could sense the 'inferiority' that he was trying to put across to me just because I did not make it to OCS. I pitied the MSG who was also among the judges on the interview panel.
It might be a blessing in disguise for not being selected like one of the bros have mentioned here. Aim for SIA. I believe they have better employee remuneration as compared to RSAF. If not, get a PPL in Malaysia or go overseas and self-sponsor your ATPL.
Good luck to your aviation dream.

No one can understand my love for aviation. Hell, I even got an unofficial record with the police for my passion.
I was like you once. Damn garang, applied various positions in the airforce. During BMT, I realised how this organisation functions and understand the shit and regimentation and decided this kinda life isn't for me. I gave up my applications and served my 1 year 10 months and F off. How glad that I made that decision.
You gotta be in the organisation to see and feel yourself the shit and regimentation and ask yourself if this is really what you want.
Wah.. unofficial police record? let me guess. through plane spotting si bo?

It's the Ford EVEREST and not Explorer.. Big difference between these two. I believe it should be assembled in Thailand. It has an engine capacity of 2.5L with a 4 speed automatic transmission. Speed limit is still at 50km/h so in fact it has a greater possibility of the driver falling asleep while driving especially when it comes with air conditioning, automatic transmission, comfortable pvc seats and no radio set.

I think cefiro looks better and more stylish than either the camry or the Accord.. and i certainly dun agree that it is worse off technologically. Now really, by saying it's behind toyota and honda technology wise, what exactly are you referring to? The engine? Really, you've got to drive one before you can make any comparison.. it really isn't fair to put down a car company just based on what you imagine to be the case.
All I have to say is that one man's meat is another man's poison. For me, I don't think cefiro has an edge over camry or even the accord in terms of design. That is why you have different cars for different markets. Take the cefiro to europe and it will score sh*t among consumers. No offence to cefiro drivers, but I have seen lots of negative feedback from europeans on the cefiro. Design is just a matter of perspective.
For the drive, it is also another case of preference. I have driven the cefiro, camry and accord and can honestly say that cefiro and camry just lack the x-factor in its drive albeit both being smooth cruisers with plush seats esp with the cefiro.
Nonetheless, back to topic, we are comparing sylphy against its competitors which would be civic. Sylphy 2.0 vs Civic 2.0Si. Leave design out, tech wise, I can confidently say the Civic will win hands down.Edited by AF1 23 May `06, 1:25PM

Honestly, I find the P-plate material used dumb. Yes, it is of pretty high quality with 3M's super-sticky-ever-famous-adhesive, however not quite practical. At $10+, you cannot even afford to shift the P -plate around cars due to the super sticky adhesive.
I do not understand why the P-plate cannot be like a decal instead? Just like Malaysia(P) and also Europe(A). It will be so much 'portable' and affordable, and I believe it will bring down the numbers for new drivers not displaying the P-plate due to whatever reasons.
Say you have got 3 cars at home and you do not know which car you will get to drive everyday as your dad loves driving different cars everyday, so just buy 3 P-plate decals and stick on all 3 cars la! haha

haha.. it's a reality of life i guess.
when i first started driving, yea signal intention first then change lane. but hey, typical singaporean style is speed up and dun let u cut.
so i think most experienced drivers just look for opportunity first, then actually signal maybe a second before changing lane. not a good practice imo, as you'll probably surprise the back driver and cause him/her to brake suddenly, if not done carefully.
but, what to do when ur driving on a 'car cut car' world?

A = automatic transmission? then i think most bmws should have A too eh then there won't be any issue.. most probably stands for "armoured" like what i mentioned earlier.. if not the car won't have an omv of 400+k

then could it be that the "A" for 750iAL stands for armoured?

SW66, forgot the ending suffix. Black Gallardo. Kept tailing me on the TPE on lane 4..
