We all know that S. Nathan worked for the Japanese police during the Japanese occupation of Singapore.
LKY also worked for the Japanese government propaganda department during the Japanese occupation of Singapore.
working for the enemy is the right thing to do.

other country taxes are higer then singapore by alot more.
and they still have to pay their insane income taxes
and you forgot to mention that their salaries are much higher then us.
and their taxes are really put to good use instead of using on investments. then investments made money, they keep. lose money nvm, they take more from the citizens to cover back.
no different from a worthless son coming home everyday to beat his parents up to get more money for his gambling addiction.

It will definitely be raised to 10% next year as there are more poor.
More poor
= Less people paying tax and utilities and town council fees and TV licenses and property tax and fines and credit card and housing loans.
= Less money going to the poodles.
If that is definitely the scenerio, then where will the hip hop poodles get their pay since they are not reducing their salary ?
The million dollar poodles are more important.
So, the increase for the GST will be implemented.
1 thing you can be sure of is they wont increase the GST till the next election is over. remember that the GST offset is over a period of 4 years. so every year people will think that the govt is giving us money to help us. but when the next election over, GST might go up again together with your transports fare.

Me and my girlfriend had known each other for 8 months. We got together (during April) after knowing each other for a month. After a month of dating, we broke up due to lack of communications. During August, we started talking again, and soon during Oct 08, we met up. On Oct 10, I took the initiative to hold her hand while making our way to polyclinic (she had check-up).
Just 18 days after we got back together, I went to her house. Solely in order to let us spend more time together, because her parents are strict on her and doesn't allow her to go out during her O's.
We did not expect her parents to be home anytime before 5pm, so I planned to leave at 4.30. But at 4pm, her father came back. We panicked, she asked me to hide by the side of her double decker bed. But her father still saw me, and our relationship was exposed. Although her father said nothing during my presence, but after I left he had a long talk with my girlfriend.
The following day, my girlfriend's mom asked about us, when we started, how we know each other, and my girlfriend spilled everything. Now her mother asked her to stop contacting me, but of course we didn't break up.
But I cannot call her, if I want to go out with her, she must drag her friend along. Her mother says , we can't get '' too close '' , her mom thought that we've already broke up. And we can no longer hold hands, kiss, because her friends would be around.
must be doing something here.

Ask urself, which will always comes first ?
Profit or Social Responsible ?This is something which is very impt as they need to find somewhere to strike a balance.. Afterall, they are being sandwhich in the middle..
Profit of course since i monopolise the market. i up to $3 per trip you also boh bian have to take.
if you notice, when the fares increase last time, it is actually cheaper to take taxi with 4 persons sharing. (e.g feeder bus to interchange & 4 persons sharing a taxi to the same location)
so when they start to increase the taxi fares to prevent you from using the above method, you find that it is actually cheaper to own a car.
then here come the ERP gantries and the charges. you find that take back public transports is cheaper. and this cycle continue.

Look at how Obama is pushing for tax cuts, how Obama is making sure American jobs go to American people, how he protects the interests of his people...
Now look at how our ministers raise electricity tariffs, raise transport fares, raise GST, raise their salaries... even when we're in a sh*thole of economic crisis.
very well said. but Singaporeans dont care as long as they have their job. other people dont have jobs is their business.

Two Arabs are in a locker room taking a shower after
their racquetball game when one notices the other has
a huge cork stuck in his butt.
"If you do not mind me saying," said the second, "that
cork looks very uncomfortable. Why do you not take it
out?"
"I cannot", lamented the first Arab. "It is
permanently stuck in my butt."
"I do not understand," said the other.
The first Arab says, "I was walking along the beach
and I tripped over an oil lamp. There was a puff of
smoke, and then a huge old man in an American flag
attire with a white beard and top hat came oozing out.
He said, "I am Uncle Sam, the Genie. I can grant you
one wish." I said, "No shit."
