Why would ppl still go to malaysia? cos our roads here dun allow them to stretch the legs of their cars. Many of you ppl here say "if wanna play, go malaysia highway to play lah" , so yah loh. Ok then where else can you have the opportunity to go faster? There is no other choice than up north. Also, safety in numbers work. You read stories about ppl getting robbed and all sorts... and the victim vehicle is ALWAYS alone. Heard of convoys being targetted? yeah this recent one... but what was that merc trying to do? picking off only one. What do you think it'll take to rob an entire convoy? Probably the only place where you can see a convoy being wiped out is in Iraq.

The thread title also a bit wrong... the car got wrecked BEFORE the thugs came up to rob him. the owner was trying to outrun the merc until they hit rain, lose control and went off the road. In a way yes, that ferrari was unlucky... that's because he was alone and stationary at that point of time. When the ferrari got wrecked and stuck dead on the road, the merc thugs got their chance to rob the fella. omg guys you should read the newspaper report from the ST and newpaper again... they alrady gave a comprehensive detail about this incident.
The common tactic robbers in malaysia use on the roads is to bump the cars off the road, make them stop and then rob them. Anyone heard of robberies while the cars are on the move? No right... The merc was trying to isolate the last car in the convoy so that they can pull a hit on that victim, but failed because some of the cars in front had stopped too to accompany the last car. And the merc failed 3 times in doing so. The paper also reported that the robbed victim was not part of the convoy and was travelling alone, but was on the way to meet them... perfect opportunity for the merc to try bump him off the road. Had it not been for the rain... he could've escaped by outrunning.

BM actually dun need to do anything much... ppl here in SG will still flock to their showrooms anyway hahaha... be it a "racing" model or not. Cos it's a.... Toyota!

I just think that to add a sporting image to a car that we already assosicate deeply to as THE family car around... hmm. Has got to do with the F1 craze coming lah. To us car junkies we'll say "bleah", but for those typical dads who just wants a car to ferry their family and themselves around and dun wan to know know so much of technical stuff, they'll go, "Eh look... sporty mmm... wah makes my car look a bit special hehehe (look fast but still same good fc) " lol

To add on..
"most European Turbo diesel cars can run compared tothier Japanese/Korean counterparts". you mean Skoda's 2.5L V6 TDI compared to Hyundai's 2.0L 4-CYL CRDi? I wonder which engine is actually producing more horsepower and torque...
1min is a very long time. To reach 130kmh is easily achievable for most higher CC sedans, unless you're talking about the Chery QQ.
You don't judge speed by your "feelings". Similar to the example I had given, how is it fair to compare between sitting in a comfy Sonata cab with sitting in a 5 year old Nissan Sunny?

How do you exactly "feel" that a car is travelling at 115km/h or 130km/h? wet your finger and stick it out of the window?Lemme share with you my experience: I once travelled in a Phantom on the NE Highway at 160km/h, and it didn't felt it was doing so cos it was too f**king quiet.
Unless you've really tried both a 2.0 petrol Sonata and your uncle's Sonata, I'm not convinced with your opinion there.

Ok guys, maybe it's time do a little reminder to keep what this thread is all about in the first place.
Post pictures of rare/exotic/way-above-class/unusual/funny cars found here in SG.
It's that's easy! We don't need to know WHO own these cars or WHAT they do for a living or business. How many cars that particular owner has... tolerable lah. Sure, some of us know a lot about these people, but keep it to ourselves lah, eh? Yes its not exactly confidential, but its not the usual practice here lah. Wanna talk more about these ppl or what... just join us for our occassion meetups and we can chat allllll night long. Ok? Steady? Happy

I fully agree with that fact. In fact I can confidently say that Hyundai cars are pretty much No.1 in accidents
I always get to see different damaged
Hyundai cars parked in their compound whenever I go to
work.

icic... in that case I would recommend that you replace the whole roof lining... cos 1) the lining is not glued to the roof and 2) if glue was to be used, no garuantee it will stay in place and might even damage the material in the process. Trying Juzz4Cars if they have a solution to this.... if not LL go to Mini Habitat.

park and ride
what does that got to do with the TS problem of finding a lot to park when he comes back late at night? i mean, how does the park and ride work out for him... when he has to leave his home car park to go park somewhere else then go take public transport to work dadada... then at the end of the day, he goes back to the car, drives back to his house car park and its full? lol
