What she has done COULD be right. Whatever did happen, she has apologised. Why should she if she has not done anything wrong.
Also, why should VB and TSL convene a media briefing if the matter is not that serious?
LBW's mistake was the way she handled the case and blurting it out to the press and the timing was stupid. She could be right but what she failed to foresee is the the repercussion of her outburst and the public's reaction.
It is criminal to dampen the celebration of our first medal after 48 years. She could have kept her mouth shut and handle the matter discreetly after the Olympics. Remove who she wants to remove after the euphoria.
By the way, I am still wondering why VB has to reiterate that AL is not sacked. I am also wondering why TSL had to say LBW is new to her job as head of STTA and should give her more time?
All this points to what else....but her mistakes.

Today's Straits Times front page headlines.........Big photo some more.
LBW apologised .......very gracious but is it too late? It will take a lot of time and effort for the public to forgive her for being a party pooper. Guarantee we will not hear from her for the next few years.
Also, one wonders how many people have twisted her arms to make her to apologise. The PM? Minister of Sports? Her colleagues?
Anyway, she should offer to resign and let the Minister decide whether to reject her offer of resignation. This is the resposible way.
By the way, how to continue our celebration after this fiasco....no mood already.

I guess this whole episode will be closed.
Where else can I find fun?????? Funny, Teo Ser Luck spoke a lot during the news conference. Maybe we can all go now to the ERP Gantry thread to pick on him...heehee.
Maybe someone will apologise to the motorists for all the grievances and stress caused by the 16 gantries along KPE.

The problem I see is not with the party whip. Whether they lift it or not, very few MPs will stand up against the PM. Also, those few with guts to question the govt usually kenna ridiculed.
What we need is more credible opposition in the parliament. Sad to say we have very few.
OK, back to your question on who is more powerful. Of course PM more powerful now. Wait til next GE, people become more powerful. Only if they knew.

I read yesterday's newpaper and that got me wondering about the political system here in Singapore.
The parliament voted overwhelmingly to reject the motion to amend the by-election constitution.
The Newpaper reported that the majority of the residents in Jurong GRC wanted a by-election.
Does this mean that our MPs are NOT REPRESENTING their constituents in parliament? Perhaps they think they know better.

Coming In : Probably another defender to cover Carvalho's likely departure.
Going Off : Carvalho, Lampard (maybe next season when he becomes a free agent)
I believe Lamps will be holding back signing a new contract with Chelsea so that he goes off FOC to the next club and then ask for astronomical wages just like Ballack.
