Inflation is caused by influx of hot money in the system (with a fixed amount of resources). The demand increased, due to influx of hot monies, to compete with the fixed amount of resources available. The distribution of the resources will ultimately dependent on the monies that people willing to pay.

The HK equity market is around 4.5% of the global capitalization. On the other hand, Sg stack market is only 0.85% (20% o f HK capitalization). With all big banks lik Hong Kong Shang Hai Bank behind, and easy access + geographical promixity from China market and other Far east major market, HK is the destined capital market in ASIA. Sg is only surround by countries with "retail corruption" problem it is really draining on our growth space.

Pls note that China ship building capability is among the top 3 in the world; Top 1 is Jap, Second place goes to Korea. The commerical ship building technological capability is fully capable to assist Chinese Navy to get its hand on most ship types & designs it wants - except a full Aircraft carrier.
In addition, Chinese naval yard is fully capable to constructing double hull submarine with full automated welding technology - that our ST shipyard is still looking. So it is very very very very unlikely that they want our LST design.
unless our
LST can transform itself just like the navy advertisement few years
ago.

We can see that good Ministers & MP, who work for people do score good results. Like Sembawang GRC - Dr Khaw & Mr Geoge Yeo, both are very good gentleman with the heart for the people and country.
Of course, on the other camp, we have Mr Low & Mr Chiam, very intelligent and responsible gentlemen. Both of them have been going a very good job.
We need these men in our political systems (both ruling parties & opp parties) to maintain our political eco system. Cheers

Purchasing the F15SG makes sense, as it will make the option for RSAF with a a heavy firepower delivery with surgical precision aircraft. The bomb load for F15SG is 11.1 tons. In addition, people familiar with F15 should know that F15 is one of the handful plane that is capable to enage in high G turns with FULL weapon load.
The new radar on our F15SG is the most powerful in the SE Asia, only out-class by the F22 radar. This is critical in the post modern air combat arena. Being the last few customer, always get some SPECIAL discounts and EXTRAs, u know
No point wasting $$ on the MIG nor SUKKOI, spare parts supplies too unstable to maintain an effective continous air operation in the war times.
On the other hand, investing in the JAS 39 as a lead trainer plane do make sense. First of all, the JAS 39 is capable of providing good training to the future F15SG pilots. JAS 39 can provide training in Air-to-Air, Air-to-Ground and even Air-to-Sea training. In war time, JAS 39 is a potent war plane and provide a high standard in Attack, Recon, Air Superioirity roles that are unmatched by Hawk 200 and T-50.

When Roman great empire was built from the small city state of ROME, the strength of the empire was built upon the pride of an average ROME citizen. The excellent political system in ROME at that time, promise protection and basic needs for her citizens. The fallen soldiers' families would be teaken care by the gov. Slaves or foreginers who had distinguished themseleves and contribute to the empire would be granted citzenships.
This rules still applies today. Just think about it

In a modern battlrfield, the MBT provide an cruical edge esp at the very intial phase of punching through the enemies defence line, and create the shock and awe behind the enemies line. The MBT would provide the thrust deep into enemies ground and cut off the enemies retreat and supply route, making way for the Infantry Assualt and Artillery Bombardment.
It would be critical that MBT should be used decisively and swiftly, to create the "suprise WOW" factor at the enemies hearts. It would be critical for our air force to achieve air superiority over the battlefield, in order to restrict enemies air elements (eg attack helio, UAV for guiding artilleries) operation. This will provide the MBT a much better chance of battlefield survival. In addition, the MBT would threaten the enemies mobile and fixed AA sites and attack the radar facility.
Most MBT have "some tricks" to deceive modern 2G anti-tank missile using decoys or smokescreen. It is important that the MBT must be fitted with sensors to detect the incoming missile, so that the MBT can deploy the decoy in time at an optimum distance. It is not a sure kill for ATGM.... esp some MBT are outfitted with extra long range sensor to pick up optical and IR targeting sensor.

Personally, I feel that getting JAS-39 in RSAF force structure is a good move. But I think JAS will be used as a Trainer Jet not directly competing with JSF.
Why?
1) Common NATO parts and compliance in coding.
2) Advance avonics and aerodynamic performance close to the F16 Block 52+ and F15SG. This will provide a very realistic training session for the trainee. In addition, this plane performance is more than adequate to be used as a front line combatant as well.
3) The avonics could be "converted" from "Trainer mode" to "Strike mode" with a software upload procedure. This add to the flexibility in the dual usage of this JAS-39 in wartime. U are not sending half bake trainer jets to perform strike mission and waste precious munitions and human life.
4) Affordability. The JAS-39 is about USD25mil each listed for the asking price in 1998. But as more countries are joining the JAS-39 user listing, we can expect the unit cost to go below USD25mil.
5) We need the VTOL JSF version to enhance the operation flexibility of RSAF and RSN in the not-too-distant future. This VTOL JSF will provide the LSD and our Delta frigate limited air cover.
6) Advance concept of JAS-39. The Swedes actually plan to use the JAS-39 together with their new UCAV as a combat team in the future. The Swedes had teamed up with French in the Neutron UCAV project since 2004. This would extend the useful life for the JAS-39 well into 21st century.
7) Cost effective. The JAS-39 cost just 10% more than the T-50 trainer. Provided similar level of training experience. But JAS-39 can be operate as a front line combatant, but T-50 cannot. JAS-39 will enable RSAF to utilise the resource more effectively.
The introduction of JAS-39 will definitely buy us
some times to work out the JSF deal. I dun think we will be the
launch customers, as RSAF is rich but still a far cry from Uncle
Sam and Friends. We can use JAS-39 as a stop gap measurement "to
wait for a while" before the JSF price drop a bit like the Nokia
N70.
9) JAS-39 spares availability is secured. We can always look for the Swedes and British for spares. Perhaps, we can manufacture some spares locally to bring down the maintenance further.
10) JAS-39 is not really commonly flying in the world. Thus, the true capability of the JAS-39 is not widely publicise like F16. This will provide a "WOW" factor for any potential aggressors.

The Russian keep their AL-31F engines and related technologies close to their chest. It is very difficult for SG to obtain a license to produce the engine locally. It would be nightmare for RSAF if the Al-31F engines run out of stock or supply being disrupt during wartime. The PLAAF has been trying very hard to stockpile their AL-31 engines for possible cross-straits conflict in the near future, but Russians had been “regulating” the flow of the engine spares to PLAAF. Thus, the operation readliness of PLAAF Sukkoi is really a concern, given the low MTBF of the AL31 engines, compare to the P&W or GE engines.
-
-
-
PLAAF is having a hard time to maintain their Sukkoi 30 fleets. The maintenance required a lot of skills and $$$ (inventory); as the russian components usually have a lower MTBF (Mean Time Btw Failure). In addition, the Russian engines are very hungry for fuel and required more frequent check compare to the US P&W or GE engines onboard F15. This is very cruical factor in deciding the operation status and "uptime" of the fighter squad in the battlefield.
F15 is a logical choice. We need not to face off with the Su35, at least not in the immediate future. By the time, our F15 already have few tricks on their sleeves. The F16 fighter pliot could be easily cross train for the F15 as well. This will reduce the lead time for the F15 squad to become fully operational.

Remember the infamous Qing official - Lee Hong Zhang.
He was protrayed as a traitor in early to mid 20th century. But now, the chinese gov, at least, seems to have a change of mind. In the TV drama Republic (Chinese CCTV prod), Lee Hong Zhang character had shed the cowardice image. Instead, Lee Hong Zhang had been protraying as a wise stateman with a heart for his country and people.....
Today, Mr Saddam was protrayed as a tyrant of Iraq. We would leave it to the history to be the best judge.

At least this church still care to say "Other religon are good, but our is better"..
I still remember during my 3mth in a missonary JC (about many many moons) located in southern Singapore near to World Trade Centre, we were forced to go for the church session. Initially, no problem everything were quite nice and we were quite impressed. Then one day, there was this new pastor in the session with us.
This pastor, around his early 40s, went up to the stage and give us a talk. But as the talk went on, the pastor seemed to loose his cool head and started to fan religion hatres. Upon, hearing that he openly declared "All religions, other than Chrsitianity, are satanic!", there was a uproar in the students crowds. A lot of the students stood up and walked out of the hall - included me.
Later, that afternoon, I had a talk with my senior from my Secondary. She told me that it was a common practice here to brainwash the new students. I could not tahan, and moved on to my poly education in the following Jun joint admission.
To be fair, living in singapore - multi-racial society, we should treasure the goodwill build-up with our fellow singaporean from different faiths and races. We should not jeapordise and take this good peaceful living environment in Sg for granted! We should respect other fellow singaporeans' faith.

New bird means new bird....
SOP for LOVE:
1. All human (man, women, ah-qua or les) like to be pampered.
2. Asian (eg Sg) are very reserve and conservative. Most of the time, the mouth asy "No", but you must really take your time and more persistent....gently
3. Women, unlike man, like to receive attention in small way. You should look at all the details on how you shower your "tender, loving touch" to her heart (dun get me wrong, not physical but emotionally esp).
4. Take good care of your gal, she will be more responive to you.
5. Forget your workplace issue, esp when u date with ur gal.
6. Dun be a MCP... and drop ur attitude... u will need to apologise sincerely to her.
7. Dun worry for facing her "music" it worth it.
8. Woman loves to complain, man just listen. And listen effectively and selectively... keep ur mouth shut most of the time... DUN BE A SMART ALEK and OFFER YOUR WORLD - CLASS SOLUTION.....she just want u to listen. Sometimes, act "blur" is a good way out....
Experiences from my 10 year love affair with my gf (now my wife).
