Another thing, dont sign on with your qualifications. SAF is no iron rice bowl unless you are a scholar.

    • Our crime rates quite low, i feel safe at night. People quite scared of the law here.

But if more foreginers come in, crime rates might increase. Anyone have crime rates statistics over the years?

For comparison purposes, the President of the United States earns a salary of US$400,000. The new salary of SG$3.8 million took effect in January 2008. There has been a lot of controversy on this issue and the prime minister has responded by lending a portion of his salary to charity. Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew claimed (without proof) in parliament that the reason why the Singapore head of state, along with his ministers, deserve such a high income is due to the fact that Singapore is a small country and lacks a large pool of talented people.

LKY and GCT getting more than this. On my god, LKY earning big bucks. use the salary. LKY 50 years in power.

His est Income (Offical one): SGD $193,500,000

All these money he dont put in bank 1, invest it.

$193mil compounded at average market returns of 8% for 50 yrs will give you $9.052Bil. I use very conservative estimates only.

If wana include Lee & Lee firm's profits and Lee family wealth. Will be a lot more already. We are looking at Singapore's richest old man. :D

My remark is purposely tailored to disppoint you, never the intention to make you happy or joy,  if not, how to alert you and get a reply.

And to call oneself rich dun make sense to anyone, a smart rich person will alway said, i am poor, can you lower the price. Got it?

      More to learn ya.

Can you read carefully? I'm talking about average Singaporeans who cant afford prime areas. The property your grandpa buy is like decades ago. He made a good decision. I'm talking about now, girl. No one can predict where the market will go and i'm trying to caution Singaporeans that properties wont always go up. I'll pay you cash straight away if you find me an 80k district 10 property. biggrin.png

Property agents are in the business of commissions and confirm say prices will go up. The higher the price the higher the commissions.

You really need to read carefully LOL. "If you are already rich, it doesn't make sense to marry for money". Get it? I'm not saying that to call oneself rich doesn't make sense.

Yeah more to learn, I never stop reading and learning everyday. Never contented with what I know.

    • Charities are like businesses too. The difference is they dont have to pay tax haha...

Donations are viewed as income, helping the needy are viewed as an expense. In the end, look at the financial statements to see if its a profit or loss. biggrin.png

It is better to donate to a charity fund that is run by rich, capable and honest people who are compassionate for the needy. In the first place they are already rich and dont need to take money from the charity. People who set up charities or join charities for the purpose of profiting from it should be viewed with caution.

The reason why Warren Buffett donated the bulk of his money to Bill Gates' foundation is explained above. angel.png

Cultural arena: I think you didnt get what i mean. We are all influenced by sg society's culture. A culture created by PAP. Eugenics and stuffs. We are taught to be selfish.

Education: Ask the garmen to change. Garmen wants us to be more creative, but if the same education system is still in place for 50yrs. You dont expect our citizens to become creative out of nowhere. Just like the US policies, they will continue to have deficits if they keep spending more than what they earn. Nothing is gonna change.

Sports: Need to be cultivated from young. Like our sports school, how do you expect our young athletes to do well in studies and excell in sports at the same time? Jack of all trades but master of none. Heard of this phrase?

Buying a flat or a property in singapore is one of the best way of making money. You can rent house as you wants, but if you are eligible to purchase a house and within capabilities, please do so, cos property will go up, by then you sell it, you gain.

LOL people always think property prices will definitely go up. What comes up must go down. Singapore's property prices have reached their peak in 2007 and have dropped significantly. Supply will continue to increase due to more developers and en-block sales.

When you sell your only shelter above your head. Take up another loan and the whole cycle begins. The real winners are banks. Specualtion; lots of people have lost money that they havent realise, by buying at the peak of the bubble. Hoping to sell higher than they paid for. No one can predict what the market prices will be like tmr.

What im trying to say is that not all Singaporeans are suited to own their own properties. Your remarks never fail to disappoint me. biggrin.png

I guess you will be a lot happier marrying for money. But if you are already rich, it just doesn't make sense to me.

    • Another foolish act by CSJ, know the law and yet defy the law.

Only 19 people, the numbers are not significant enough. Get at least a few hundreds or thousands then say. 19 people is just plain foolish.

Foolish and not charismatic enough to gather enough people also.

Think of more creative ways to communicate with the citizens, keep breaking the law just turn us off!

Disclaimer: I'm not a PAP supporter of whatsoever, I read widely from the net and is not influenced by PAP progapanda. I support change and not foolish acts by opposition.

    • Ok this is getting out of topic haha...

Singaporeans just love the high life which leads to their down fall.

We only need 3meals a day, simple yet fashionable clothes to wear. Dont need a car in Singapore.

Rent a little flat should be enough even if a loving couple takes home 4k per month. If i've found the girl and we love each other very much. I dont mind living a simple and happy life. I would sacrifice all riches for that.

Singaporeans dont need to buy a flat, i've done the math, most of the time its cheaper to rent than to buy. What is the difference if you buy a flat with 99yr leasehold. Isn't it like renting it from HDB? I find most couples have problems paying for their new flat. Bank interests adds on to your burden. DO YOUR MATH PEOPLE!

House, car and the high life to show off is the top 3 financial burden for couples in Singapore.

    • Very true!

I think we are 2nd world people, not first. Its our asian culture to always think of ourselves. This must change! Asians will never become first world people living in an asian environment. Unless you live overseas for a very long time.

First world is only in economic terms. Sports, culture and education all cannot make it.
