    • Okay, did the port forwarding, no go. Btw, it's impossible for both my brother and I to join the same game (hosted by another person) as well. Only one of us would be able to go in. Arghhhh, didn't happen with my old router!

Btw manyu882, what's UPNP, couldn't find it anywhere in my router configuration page/helpfile.

Thanks for the swift response guys. =)

    • I'm not sure if this is the correct place to be asking this, but nonetheless I hope someone's able to help me.

I have performed the necessary portforwarding to host games on Warcraft III (actually, I just switched on DMZ to save myself the trouble), but here's my problem.

I can host a game, people can join, all's good. But when my brother joins the game using a computer from the same network, everyone else gets dropped. I.e. I can either play with computers from the same network, or from outside, but not both.

This problem didn't exist on my old router, and I don't know how to start troubleshooting this. Hope someone can help, thanks in advance!

      Router = Linksys WRT54GC

The more you fight back, the more they relish labelling you gay.

And really, does the 'gay' they label you with denote the true meaning of it? I doubt so. Their limited vocabulary prolly doesn't extend to the true meaning of gay.

So what if you are labelled as gay? As long as you ain't one, who cares?

Unless the girl you like also knows about this label. By then, just go all out to prove to her that you like her.

Stop whining. In fact going to gym, shouting, acting more 'manly' doesn't help.

You lack self-confidence and a self-identity. Search for both of them first.

When you've found them, labels such as 'gay' will bounce off you like raindrops off a plastic sheet.

      Agreed.

Also, watch your own body language carefully. If it's your voice, too bad... Bottomline is, there must be a reason why you're getting the 'gay' label in the first place. There's a chinese saying that goes wu2 feng1 bu4 qi3 lang4.

So find out what that reason is, and work on it.

    • Long ago, I had the same problem. Humanities, particularly history, is super weak.

My advice is to concentrate more on the humanities subject you're better in. Geography for me. Pull up your average, and you may make it into triple science. I did, heh.

I'm not saying to give up on History, it's just about allocating different efforts to different subjects, for a better overall grade. In the end, you'll probably drop History in Sec 3, right? Razz

The word "suppose" is used for structuring basic algebraic questions as it is assumed for the designs and purpose of the very question, in question, and to disassociate the assumptions in the question with what is defined. (I.e. a + b - c = 0 exists in the question, but not for ALL cases outside the question, therefore the word "suppose" is used) It is merely a linguistic structure to frame most algebraic questions that you see nowadays, so it can't be a 'joke' per say.

For your example (princess and queen), the word "suppose" is indeed what you say it is (the jist of the joke), and I get your point.

Eagle: Sorry to hijack your thread but I have too much free time on this fine Sunday afternoon. Glad to find JerzZzzZ to discuss whats the jist of the joke.

      Very Happy

You see, in Algebra, they give you a problem. From the problem, you can assume a + b = c, for a reason.

I.e. They say, James gave an unknown amount of apple to Jeremy, so did Jane.

By letting amt of apples James and Jane gave be 'a' and 'b' respectively, and amt of apples Jeremy received be 'c', we can assume a + b = c. But in this case, the assumption is baseless, and you cannot proceed to solve an equation you just made up from nowhere. Smile

An even shorter form of the 'joke' --> Suppose 3 = 4. Tata. The mathematical part is just there to confuse the mind and makes it actually -appear- logical. Which I suppose is what makes up the 'joke'. But the catch of the joke is at the 'suppose' step. Smile

      Laughing

And that is why I said the error was in a+b-c=0, because you can 'suppose' anything. Okay, maybe error is the wrong word.

      Theorem: CoolMyth is a princess.

Suppose: CoolMyth's mother is a queen.

      Queen's daughter = princess.
      Therefore, CoolMyth = princess.

The 'suppose' part is the key to the 'joke'.

(apologies if coolmyth is a he, just replace princess with prince, mother with father, and queen with king. Wink )

I maintain my stand. The error is already made at the 'Suppose a + b - c = 0' part, if you think about it. Further errors arise because of that error. Then again, this is a joke, so don't think too much into it. Smile

Actually, I believe it can. The error should be in the 'Suppose a+b=c' part. You might as well 'Suppose 3=4', saves you the trouble of doing the maths part. Wink

But be it with what reasons those people who vote for PAP or be it with what reasons those people who vote for opposition, we are all Singaporeans, we all treat this place as our home, we all made friends and lost friends in here, we all serve this country with our sweat and curse(male)...
It is just a difference in views and thinking...

      Well said, in some manner.

Anyway, some people have no idea how many 'responsible' voters vote for the opposition just because it seems to be the 'in' thing to go against PAP. Imho, PAP has always done a good job in governing Singapore.

Sure, there's a chinese saying that goes 'yi shan geng you yi shan gao', but how many of us are willing to risk our assets and financial stability to let a new party try what another has been doing for years?

If there's a compelling reason to, I'd take that risk. But no, PAP is doing just fine at the moment. Once again, the above was in my humble opinion (long for 'imho').

    • Pretty easy to answer. A cake can technically be split into 3 equal parts, just that it cannot be expressed numerally. Your 0.000000000000000~1 is there, equally split among those 3 parts. Smile

Anyway, waste pulse or no, dagger's still a very good item for SK, or most heroes for that matter!

    • 1. One Piece
      2. Bleach
      3. FMA
      4. Rurouni Kenshin
      5. Gatekeepers

      Animes worthy of mention:

      - Fushigi Yuugi (if only there's more space in top 5, hah)
      - Naruto
      - Flame of Recca
      - Gensomaden Saiyuki
      - Doraemon, too! wahaha.

I don't watch a lot of animes. I probably listed all the animes that I've finished watching, minus the on-goings. Haha! If I don't like it, I wouldn't finish it. -nods-

      If I were.

Anyway, NUS FASS is definitely one of the easiest courses to enter. And from then on to choose psychology as a major, frankly speaking, isn't very tough. It's more subjected to demand than to results, since the criterons are not very high.

      -----------------------
      Forgot to state my stand.

I feel that you should go the JC route. Someone earlier mentioned that to practise psychology, you'd have to obtain a Master's at the very least. Ergo, if you obtain a psychology diploma, and fail to enter a university for further studies, that's 3 whole years wasted.

If you enter a JC, and your grades fail to ensure you a place in psychology, hopefully it may admit you to other courses. At the end of the day, at least you'll hold a paper of 'power'.

Besides, you can't be very sure psychology is your 'calling' at this point of time, right? You're still young, never know what'll happen in the future. Smile
