recall:
these are my own jotted down notes...they are kinda loh soh, lol...but hope it helps!
Vertical Parking
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
1- Park car to the right, at the dotted white lines. Check right, left and behind for safety, signal left and put car in reverse. Reverse until the pole coincides with the top of the main demister line (which is the third short line). The pole will be at the corner. Turn steering wheel full lock to the left.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
2- When the pole reappears at the start of third line again, turn steering wheel two rounds to the right. When the pole is almost disappearing, or you see that it’s at the corner of the third line, full lock to the left again.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
3- When reversing into the lot, turn the steering wheel two rounds to the right to straighten the wheels and car is almost parallel with the kerb. When left shoulder is in line with the left center pole, stop the car, apply handbrake and put to P.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
4- When driving out, signal your intention to the left or right, check safety, move forward until the first pole is at the center of the front left door, then drive out.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
Parallel Parking
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
1- Position car to the left kerb. Check right, left and behind for safety, signal left and put car in reverse.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
2- Full lock steering wheel to the left immediately on seeing pole is at the corner of the demister (third) line.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
3- Look outside the window and through the right side mirror until you can see the bottom of the two poles, turn two rounds to the right.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
4- While the car is reversing, look out until the pole is almost near to the Honda logo on the left windscreen mirror, once the pole is near to the Honda logo, a bit near to the windscreen wiper, full lock to the right.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
5- Once the car is in the lot, reverse slowly, until you see the poles at the back, then step on the brake pedal, before hitting the poles. Once you step on the brake pedal, put the gear to D and move forward. If the car is more to the left, turn the steering wheel to the right to make the car straight, if you move forward and the car is more to the right, turn the steering wheel to the left, to make the car straight.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
6- Once the car is straight, put the car in P, and apply handbrake.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
7- When moving out, move straight towards the front poles, stop before hitting the poles. Reverse the car and turn steering wheel to the left about one round, when car is near to the rear poles, put to D, and return the steering wheel to the right. Signal right, check rear, drive out very slowly and fully turn to the right.

Hi nehpyh
The damage in total was around $1600. I know, not much, but it was a wake up call for me.
Anyways, I just wanna say thanks to everyone for their constructive comments. Be it positive or negative. I appreciate them from the bottom of my heart. Conclusion is, I won't give up driving.
Any moderators in here? How can I close this thread?
Time for a new chapter in my life... :)
Happy weekend everyone and God bless you all.

As for common sense, judgement & adaptation ....... - if you have it, face the fact - you would not have the accident also.
If you are a weak driver, unable to concentrate - you should drive slower, short distances and know where the damn brake is - to get use to driving first.
You just have to stop trying tell yourself that you are qualified to drive just because you got your licence !!! There is still no excuse for having the accident, you have to face it , and not try to come here to justify that it is just a moment of error !!!Count yourself and your niece that you are lucky to be alive !!!
*Sigh* Another one...
Well, my question is, do you have any facts to support your statement that "if you failed that many time, it is really that your skill at driving is not really that good."
So are you saying that those who pass their TP the first time would AUTOMATICALLY be inclined to drive? Even with say, not much driving experience, but just because they pass on their first attempt, it'll be unlikely that they'll get into an accident?
That's a load of crap and you know it. And also, please tell me, just where exactly in all of my postings here have I ever tried to JUSTIFY my error???
"You just have to stop trying tell yourself that you are qualified to drive just because you got your licence !!!"
What kind of stupid reasoning is that? I'm not even going to bother to justify such stupidity.
Dude, seriously, if you have nothing constructive to comment about, why even bother?

Guys..please don't turn this thread into a racist one..
n0x..I appreciate your comments...and I know how frustrating it is reading those immature and shallow ones. These people are entitled to their opinions no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Then again as we all know, an empty vessel makes the most noise. :)
Sinicker, who cares what race you are and if you're driving your dad's car? Don't be too sensitive ah? :)
Hope you're all indoors! Another damn hot day today! :S

Hello Unknown_X!
Thank you for your comments. I guess what you said is true. I have already spent so much getting my licence, I don't think I'm going to give it up.
You know I actually prefer driving hatchbacks. One of my faves is the Honda Fit, even though I've never driven it before. I've driven a few huge sedans, and I have to admit I don't quite like big cars. I find it a hassle especially when doing reverse parking, but then again my parking skills are not really that good. :)
But hey, thanks for being so supportive. There are so many of you who's been supportive and understanding thus far, and I just want you to know that I deeply appreciate it.
For those who keep harping on how repeat TP testers shouldn't be driving, not good drivers, should be banned, etc, all I can say is, you're entitled to your own opinions and I'm just glad there's only a minority of you who thinks that way.
Happy monday!

Hello guys!
Thanks for all your comments so far. I have a request. Please don't make this turn out to be a sling match. I can accept all the snide remarks, for they mean nothing to me.
I'm just amazed how people can be so judgmental. Come on people, don't act like you've never ever made a mistake before. Let's keep this thread free of the testerone laden macho-ism ok?
Cheers!

Hi everyone!
Thanks for your comments.
HolySniper.. only dip holder, so hao lian? Then again what have you being a dip holder got anything to do with your ability to drive? One of my friend's colleague, this super cocky guy, is extremely highly educated, drives a fancy car, but according to my friend, he's the worst driver ever! After offered a lift by him one day, my friend swore never to get in the same car again!
So your theory of ''BUT when u can fail so many times before passing, it shows tat ur motor skills, estimation, confidence and judgement is not that good.. not good at adapting to changes?'' sounds so ridiculously lame, it's bordering on mild retardation.
So are you trying to say if I were to pass on my first attempt, I'm automatically a super duper perfect driver? Granted, there are those who're just inclined to drive, and many others, like me, who needs more practice before getting the hang of it. Not good at adapting to changes? Nah, hardly. I grew up poor, and if there's one thing that I've learned from my humble beginnings, I've learned to adapt to everything revolving around me and not the latter.

Hi sinicker
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
Looks like I also have to address a few issues tonight aye? :)
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
You said: “i think mine was a rational thinking. if you cannot pass after multiple times, something is really wrong. like nightsky87 added, maybe one's abilities just cannot make it. judgement of situations all plays an important part. cycling, swimming, driving... i feel it's all the same. if you cannot, then you really cant. i admit i cant swim for nuts & dont bother to learn coz' i simply cant!”
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
I disagree. Practice makes perfect. In my case, I am not car stupid. I know I have the ability to drive albeit being a good driver. I just have a few kinks that need to be ironed out. Namely like lane changing (still not very confident), my habit of wide turns when turning right and my parking skills. These I believe you hone your skills on the go.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
Although I have to say I admit I can’t sew for nuts and I don’t bother, not because I simply can’t, but I’m just lazy. J
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
You said: "because when you fail numerous times, it's a clear indication that something is just wrong. well, that's what i feel. of course we all learn from mistakes. confirm every driver whether pass 1st, 3rd, 5th, nth time all commit mistakes on the road. :) whether it only resulted in a near-miss or an accident that's another different matter altogether and it isnt important whether the driver was a 1st, 3rd, 5th or nth attempt student when you're in an accident coz' it aint matter. the license to drive is. i hope you understand where i'm coming from.
what i'm trying to bring up is, if a person fails numerous times, something must be really wrong right?"<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
I do understand where you’re coming from... If a person fails numerous times, YES, something must be really wrong. And it’s up to that person to address it, to start thinking, how come I keep failing? What are my mistakes? What are my weaknesses?
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
Like for instance, I am weak with my vertical parking and directional change. So during my revision lessons, my instructor made me practice many times. I focused on my weaknesses and improved on my strengths.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
I dunno… maybe I just don’t know how to give up. Maybe I have the fighter spirit in me. :)
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
You are very fortunate to been given guidance from your father at such a young age. Don’t forget, not many people have that luxury. Be it of time and money.
<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]-->
It was settled amongst ourselves. I was fortunate the cabbie was a very nice guy. He was compensated in full, including his loss of earnings, damages etc.
