I used to take atlanteans on svc 23. Those times, svc 23 would enter PIE after Tampines ave 5. It was fun when the driver cheong the bus until PIE exit. The engine would just shrill and with the wind blowing in ur face. I remember the reg as SBS 49xx. Used to have AIWA walkman ad.
And the starting with a jerk. Somehow, the sensation of speed is better felt with NACs, similiar wif riding a bike.

Hi, was just wondering how do they go about putting in the destinations in the EDS ? Does someone type it in manually and saves it in the EDS console in each bus itself or do they type it in a comp and then download it into the all the EDS.
And where are the EDS console in the new SBST KUBs. It is just above the driver's head on the SMRT's ? And is it linked to the GPS system as I hav never seen the driver change the destination or tinker with it compared wif the SMRT's

I was just wondering, are there any figures out there regarding the fuel efficiency of bus models. For example,in the airline industry there is gas(fuel)per mile per pax figures showing the fuel efficiency of a particular ac model. FYI, A380 is 20% more fuel efficient than B744.
Are similiar figures recorded by bus companies. I’m sure they will to take into account future purchases. And i’m remember seeing in the new paper a few years ago gas mileage of sv171 on a merc benz. Does anyone have more figures ?

I was doing some cleaning up at my work place when i came across some old newspapers when the pic on the front page caught my eye. It was an accident of an off duty DD bus crashing through the height barrier near the kallang police coast guard road. It happened some time back in 1993. Pics courtesy of some local chinese paper. The bus rego was SBS 6821J.
Can’t seem to paste the pics here though !

"On the other hand, what you can do is just install winxp and wipe out ubuntu linux."
I think i will follow that.
So by default, if i put in the win xp CD and put BIOS to boot up from there, does it automatically overides linux or do i still need to uninstall linux. Stupid question( bear wif me
, )but how do i uninstall an OS ? Is there a control
panel( add or remove program) or something on linux ?

Sometimes a tug isn't even needed: under certain conditions, Northwest's DC9s are allowed to "power back" from the gate using reverse thrust. I've been on a few domestic flights where this has happened.
It also happens in SIN, but only for smaller a/c like B737 and A320 as their engine thrust won't overpower the airtug. It definitely won't happen wif the B777 even in US as they autostart both engines at the same time and the idle thrust can overpower the airtug resulting in towbar shear. Has happened in SIN b4.
As i said earlier, any a/c wif thrust reverser can technically back up on its own, just that it's not recommended by the manufacturers.

It's possible for a turbofan to start and reverse out of the gate using thrust reversers although it's strongly not recommended bcos of possible engine damage and ground damage. Anyway, a380 only has 2 thrust reversers.
From wat i heard, the hydraulics on the airtug failed cosing loss of braking and steering power.

Also when it moves off, it will shake a few times b4 moving off. Also miss the wooden interiors of the other leyalnd atlantean. wat's the website where u guys all these pics ?
