    • In Pali, it should be :

      Buddham prasiddhi me

      Dhammam  prasiddhi me

      Sangham prasiddhi me.

( Without proper guidance, you may mispronouce the words such as "me".  In Pali accent, it is pronouce as "may".)

      Listen to Zacken's advice.

      This are my question.

When you go be a part-time thai monk, i understand that u have to go beg for alms , clean the temple and do chores and chanting. Can learn magic have to depend on master le, correct?

So when go beg alms, the alms all vegetable one or is they give u what, u eat what..then can eat beef?

Anyone be before, share experience lei, i can feel loneliness when i imagine myself going thru this thing, it is normal right?

      Hi friend,

The appropriate word used should be short term monk instead of part-time monk.
What is your intention of becoming a monk? If you want to learn magic then forget about it.
As a monk, you have to go for alms collection every morning and you eat what is being given. Reason being that there should be no desire in the food.
Loneliness and peace of mind is of different meanings.
Being a monk, one attain the peace of mind with detachment from family ties and world affairs.
Regardless of the duration of being a monk, one have to maintain and observe the 227 precepts during the monkhood.
      Also observe the following :
      Sila - morality , Samadhi - meditation & Panna - Wisdom
Be prepared physically, mentally and spiritually prior to ordain as a monk.

The moment i heard so EX, i got to think twice. I have 6 people at home, and that will cost me S$210/- as they advise it better to contribute one each. I just working class, it's 200 bucks so i really might not be able to afford that much. Embarassed anyway, now i guess i have a better pic. Really appreciate your view.

      Hi friend,

What you can do is write the name as Mr.XYZ and family. Spiritual contribution comes from the heart, there is no monetary value. Today you may not be able to do it financially but in time to come, you may be able to contribute more. It is a life-time commitment. This is just the beginning of the journey
and there is a long way to go.

      Cheers.

    • Hi friend,

I will like to share my personal view.

Firstly, we have to be awared of the country. If in Singapore, normally you will get the set of robes direct from the temple. It comes with a predetermined
price and it varies from one temple to another. There is no such fixed price.
We cannot compare with the actual cost price of the robes which may be cheap and affortable.
In the temple, whatever money collected goes to the temple funds. Therefore there is some difference in the price tag.

      Regards,
      Kimsai

Inker, well spoken and good phasing.

Hope we are not in the buring fire of ignorance.
Because of ignorance, people imagine discriminations where in reality, there are no discriminations.
But people, because of ignorance, imagine such distinctions and judge them as right or wrong.
Mind is the forerunner. Nothing is good or bad but thinking makes it so.
Do good begets good. Do bad begets bad, We reap what we sow.

Firstly you should not accept this gift of KMT.
Now you face the problem as how to maintain it.
My advice to you is to bring it to the temple.
Don't try to find out more about KMT, live a simple life.

Yes, you are absolutely right. Many devotees take the panca sila ( 5 precepts ) without knowing the contents of the precepts. Not all but most of them just follow and take precepts by reciting after the leader monk during festive or religious occasions.

I remember the first time when i went this Master, to beg him for taking me as his Disciple. In the end he rejected me... Crying or Very sad very sad that time.

But he told me very important things that i remember even till now.

He said told me: being a Archan is not as simple as you think.

Being a good listener is important as why Buddha know s all, He listen.

Being observant as Why Buddha able to see all, as he see things at difference angle.

Being able to tell n teach as why Buddha have achieve a greater hights of understandings.

Also Because Buddha he hav a heart that can be as big as an ocean or bigger.
He is able to forgive n think postive.

Also Because Buddha he hav the Knowledge N wisdom as high as an mountain. That He have being using his brain to think n learn .

Means no matter who we are no matter what we are, maybe a monk , archan, layman, minister, teacher, children, ghost spirit or whatever we are.
The most important is to have the heart to learn how to accept ppl.
Knowledge maybe we can learn from school.
Wisdom is learn during our journey of life.

learn to accept n too forgive.

Panca sila ( 5 precepts ) as in Pali.

yeah, seriously. not really evil stuff, but wrong. yes.

I think you are in a state of awakening as you can still differentiate what is evil and wrong doings.
Evil person sometimes do not know what he is doing.
If you think your doing is wrong then don't do it again.
Everybody do make mistake and it is a blessing that the doer knows what is right or wrong.

Another thing we can do to safeguard ourselves from such situation is to learn the basic or general knowledge of supernatural stuffs like knowing what sort of stones or mineral is for what month. Not necessary to be in depth but just enough so we do not get cheated out of money especially life.

Don't try to learn supernatural stuffs. Be a simple man. Be humble and have lots of loving-kindness ( metta ). Good people will be protected by spiritual guardians. Refrain from evil, do good and purify the mind.

Be positive and find the truth. Interact and communicate with your daughter.

When you say your wife always hear the bell ringing sound.

      1. What time is it.
      2. How frequent.
      3. What feelings all of you have upon hearing the sound. This may lead to the source and have to do with kamma. Do you have a soothing or eerie feelng.

      Any suggestions from members, please.
