    • Oh well, I’m partially hearing-impaired actually. Sometimes its not that I don’t want to mingle around much with friends but its because of that I could not make out what they’re saying especially in noisy environment, I tend to keep quiet as I dont want them to repeat themselves again and then feel irritated by me. Yet, I’m afraid of getting embarassed about it if i were to tell them. Now that i’m back in school, I don’t know whether I should wear a hearing aid to school or just tell them about my problem. Hopefully, someone can shed some light please?

i guess its because of the humid weather here in singapore. but many girls here do wear dresses especially button dresses.

yeah. wearing something that people aren't wearing much of makes you stand out among them but yet would catch a lot of attention. BUT, its your style! so go with what you like and what you think suits you!

i apologize if my explanation not as clear or professional as eagle's.. my explanation appeal more to layman lol..

anyway i took econs for 1 sem nia n is B+..=( so eagle can double confirm? lol.. but i think my understanding of opportunity cost shouldn't be that wrong..

i thought that the opportunity cost is $10000 from his choice of not making 10 computers? do i have to minus $5000 from $10000 to calculate opp cost ?

    • a computer engineer may be better in making a new computer than growing crops. if he here to spend his time growing crops, he would incur a HIGH OPPORTUNITY COST in terms of higher income lost from not being able to make computers. what do they mean by “he would incur a HIGH OPPORTUNITY COST” here?

    • i dont really understand this whole PPC thingy and how it works. on what occasion does the PPC shift outwards or inwards? and what do the points on and within the PPC indicate? and also why is it that when resources(e.g. labour, land) are not fully and efficiently used, then there will be unemployment?

    • I seriously also agree that some of the markers marked our scripts wrongly. Some of friends of mine who have all along never been proficient in their english at all and tend to write in short-form English words could even manage a B3 for their O-level English. On the other hand, I who is definitely more proficient in English than them, only managed a B4. This is really quite absurd. No hard feelings to any readers here though.

    • Anyone here whose appeal into your desired JC is successful? As for myself, I'm still waiting for PJC to give me a ring to inform me of the outcome of my appeal. Hopefully, my appeal into PJ is successful.

apparently when i visited MI for the first time of my life today impression of that school to me isnt really good.. got a sense that the teachers there are just there for their rice bowl..dosent really have any passion for teaching which is different from what i see in i IJC where the teachers are darn strict..at least they're able to convince me that they mean business which are to enforce learning..i visited the staff room and asked about subjects combi the and the MI staffs there talks bout whether their colleagues will be there treating them free lunch or not..icon_rolleyes.gif

will be really worrying about forsaking JC for admission to MI for the reason of pursuing subjects combi..

Not anyone that I know of. But I do know that many MI students aren't as hardworking as their peers in JC perhaps because they thought that since MI is a 3-year A-level route which is one more additional year as compared to JC's 2 years, they can afford to slack. if you were to go to MI, you would really have to be very hardworking and disciplined. I know of someone who graduated from MI who scored straight Bs for his subjects and was offered places by SMU Econs and NTU Econs. So, nothing is impossible as long as you put in sheer hard work and consistency in your studies.

    • Has anyone thought of appealing into other JCs or poly courses after the release of the JAE posting results?

I've decided to appeal into Pioneer JC(Arts) because I realised that Innova JC doesn't offer H2 China Studies in English(CSE) which I want to take up instead of H2 Lit.

-Wrote incident report. (A long one)

-She let form teacher handle the CASE.

-And guess what ? It's not about the cockroach thingy , it's also about the cold shoulder I gave her , calling her loner and and extra.

-She is dame FUCKING asshole larr .. Form teacher told me that she pity her cuz she is lonely etc etc ...

My score for O lvl this year.

      26 point. English - B4

                      Maths - D7

                      Combine sciences - D7

                     Combine Humanities - D7

                     Geography - C5

                     Mother Tongue(CL) - B3

                     CCA - B3

Well.. i am appealing into NYP and RP on the DAE application located in their website. RP DAE application have started, i have already handed up the application form in NYP.

What if im not been selected as a student. Can anyone give me some alternative routes...

I will blame no one else but myself, for not studying hard even at the last moments.. Thinking that it will be a breeze. I don't wish to retake my O lvls again as it is a waste of time..

Unless im being choosen into a poly, retaking my maths and science is no problem. I will put in double effort to make sure i pass them. Even my maths and sciences are weak...

Should i choose to go Private Poly instead if im not being choosen, Or aim for Higher Nitec..

I am not from a rich family, so i have limited choices to choose from.. Can someone guide me through my path..

yea i seriously think that you really should retake your O-levels. i understand that you don't come from a family with an affluent background, so you might be thinking that retaking O-levels may be a lil' bit too costly for you and your family. but trust me, it really isn't more worth it when you enter some course that you don't really have an interest in just for the sake of helping your family save the costs. in time to come, you would surely regret your decision.

i've been through this horrendous experience. i also screwed up my O-levels very badly and went into some poly course that i don't really enjoy doing. eventually, i quitted school and registered myself as a private candidate for O-levels. since then, i worked so hard that i sacrificed time that was supposedly to be spent with my friends. and now, i'm so glad that my hard work paid off. my results now allow me to get to a Junior College which is part of my goal to get to university.

so, nothing is impossible. hard work never goes unrewarded. as for the financial difficulty, just convince your family that you'll work really hard for your O-levels this time round and please really make sure that you do work really hard. :)
