    • OCS 5BX run 3 - 3.5km in like 15 minutes. That one not shiong meh? Not tiring meh? My platoon run already always feel like throwing up, especially cause they force us to drink 500ml of water just before the run (it's enforced - they keep checking how much water we have).

Like that also no medical coverage, the nearest MO is at Pasir Laba Camp. OCS sooner or later someone going to die also, then MINDEF just cover up only...

Also I wonder how many non-death, but near-fatal cases occurs to NSmen, but is not reported in the newspapers. These cases are huge causes of concern too!

Sigh... only in Sg, young boys are sent against their will, to suffer at the hands of people who dont' really care about their welfare or lives

    • RETARDED_MORON, I think what you can do is to sell your strong points, i think one of your strongest points is your self-confidence, and doctors must have a lot of that - the ability to make spilt-second decisions etc. Harp on this!

Also, it's good to back it up with examples! Here's one: Sell to NUS Med Fac about your reptuation as a cocky, arrogant bastard who sneers at people who do lousier than you in their results (yes, i am from your JC, and have seen some of your posts last year being totally dismissive of Throughtrain students who do worse than you). Print out some of your forum posts as supporting evidence for NUS, and I am sure they will admit you, man, if your self-confidence is literally oozing out of every pore of your body

Warmest Regards, and hope you are successful with your application

Dude. You just graduated from RJC Science. Are you going to repeat this "I got into RJC Science!" every year to stroke your little fragile ego?

Your life seriously needs a +1

Firstly homosexuals have no need to prove that homosexual activity is good - laws are legislated to protect society from harm (i.e. ban bad things) rather than only allow good things to take place in society.

Secondly, i know there has been quite a few arguments smattered all over the forums etc, but why is homosexual activity bad? Could you (or Icemoon or others) provide perhaps the three STRONGEST arguments on your stance -- so there can be a more fluent debate rather than a random spamming of points?

Lastly, aiyah pro or anti homo also equally fierce! cannot say pro homo more fierce? haha. just discussion only what! Smile

So my counter-challenge to you is,

      1. So what if the Indian language is NOT banned?
      2. So what if the eating of bread as religious act is allowed?

But I think you are blurring the issues. The crux of 377A is about acts behind closed doors. Is the Indian language mainly used behind closed doors?

I apologise - perhaps the use of the Indian language is not appropriate. Let us hence consider the example of religious practices, which can be done behind closed doors - the example perhaps of eating bread for communion.

To answer your counter-challenge (point 2), So what if the eating of bread as a religous act is allowed? I agree, there is no consequence, it is after all a private act and as long as you don't forcefeed say a Muslim into eating bread as a symbol of Christ-Worship, so what if the eating of bread is allowed?

Have you however considered the converse. So what if the eating of bread as a religious act is not allowed? Will that not count in a way of religious discrimination, when the private worship practices of a religion is deemed unnatural (i mean, bread was never naturally used as a symbol for the flesh of Christ), and any partakers in this activity is liable to litigation? Therefore one must answer both sides of the question when using the phrase "So What" to have a more logically defensible argument.

You also talk about the concept of the "Big Picture". I agree with you that the Big Picture is important. Consider the "big picture" of what is essentially a discriminatory act against a minority - going against their civil right of intercourse with a consenting individual. Given such a precedent, what prevents Parliament from banning other actions within the civil rights of a Singaporean as illegal? Using the same example, if the government can erode the civil rights of a gay of intercourse, why can the government not erode the civil rights of a Christian to freedom of religious worship?

Therefore considering the "Big Picture" also tells us that the need to repeal 377A is important in protecting the sancity of civil rights of Singaporeans - that there are some sacred basic rights granted to every Singaporean that cannot be superseded by another law.

I hope for interesting replies supporting/opposing the above argument.

I dunno what is the problem. Govt already say won't enforce liao and no Christian organization is lynching gays.

      Hi. Can i ask,

Will you endorse a law that says

"The use of the Indian Language should be banned and any offender will be fined $1000" OR
"The eating of bread as a religious act is an offence liable to 5 weeks in jail"

if the government ASSURES you this law is a paper tiger and will never ever be enforced?

Since the law is not enforced, then it is not discriminatory to Indians/Christians, so going by the same argument you give for 377A, isn't it acceptable to make the above two statements laws?

    • Wow i'm amazed! call yourself a Rafflesian it seems you have been so unattached to the school that even the departure of Mr.Hodge has gone unnoticed by you. Great job!

I'm so sure that you dislike Raffles so much as can be seen from your posts, so why enrol in Raffles JC in the first place? Rolling Eyes

Just wondering, but everyone knows who you are, seen your pictures (and your Youtube videos), even knows your school, your class etc. So why the sudden need to hide your face?

How queer considering everyone has seen it before --- any reasons why?

      Thanks! Smile
