After hearing news of how my friends ganna cheated at Sim Lim square, I've since boycotted all the shops there. Not saying that all of the shops are like that, but I'm just not taking my chances.
I'd rather pay net price without bargain than to let those dishonest cheats make any money even if they DO offer less to me.

Religion should not be respected and immune to criticism and examination just because it is granted the title of "RELIGION".
Any good idea(s) should be able to stand on its own merit, and respect earned because it deserves it, not because it IS religion and people might be offended by it.
1. Universal rights and equal citizenship for all. We are opposed to cultural relativism and the tolerance of inhuman beliefs, discrimination and abuse in the name of respecting religion or culture.
2. Freedom to criticise religion. Prohibition of restrictions on unconditional freedom of criticism and expression using so-called religious 'sanctities'.
3. Freedom of religion and atheism.
4. Separation of religion from the state and legal and educational system.
5. Prohibition of religious customs, rules, ceremonies or activities that are incompatible with or infringe people's rights and freedoms.
6. Abolition of all restrictive and repressive cultural and religious customs which hinder and contradict woman's independence, free will and equality. Prohibition of segregation of sexes.
7. Prohibition of interference by any authority, family members or relatives, or official authorities in the private lives of women and men and their personal, emotional and sexual relationships and sexuality.
8. Protection of children from manipulation and abuse by religion and religious institutions.
9. Prohibition of any kind of financial, material or moral support by the state or state institutions to religion and religious activities and institutions.
10. Prohibition of all forms of religious intimidation and threats.

, knowing that people visiting from other countries were also watching them...
Retarded scripts, infantile acting, silly dialogs. Further, a bit of Singlish here and there is ok...but why must they overdo it like that.
It is spoiling the reputation of us Singaporeans, projecting an image that all Singaporeans have such imbecile and childish wits with zero creativity...

In the Q&A session [with the Dali Lama] it was asked what would be done in Buddhism if science was to disprove some part of the religion. He said this has already happened and Buddhism has adapted to fit the known world as opposed to every single other religion which fights against science Buddhism embraces science as they are both seeking the truth, there should be no discrepancies.

The "God" which these Scientists (such as Einstein or Hawkins) quoted is very different from the personal Gods believe in religions such as Christanity and Islam...etc...
Interestingly, Darwin was a Christian.
The Pantheist "God" is a naturalistic, non-personal (i.e. don't have some human-like personality/emotions as we know it) God. It is a poetic re-expression of the Universe (or rather, what and all that exists) and that we are all but a part of this "God".
It is the naturalistic Pantheist God. Which is compatible with certain forms of Zen/Chan Philosophy in regards to the world (i.e. we are not separated from our surroundings)...and doesn't contridicts Physical laws.

Creationism is NOT a Scientific theory and should never be taught side-by-side with Evolution. That has already been settled in the US way back although some of the more backward thinking schools refuses to change.
Creationism can alternatively be taught under 'religion' or 'mythology'.
What I feel is that children should not be taught religion until they are more mature. THey should first be taught Critical thinking skills and skepticism and then decide on and choose the religion that they are drawn to on their own will without any brainwashing during their more innocent years.Edited by Phorum Noob 22 Jan `08, 12:59PM

black is when we cannot see
white is when we can see
hence white god comes in
lighted up our light
black is evil because it origin from satan
and
white is good because it origin from jesus christ
there used to be no black god
but god wanted to help those black
so he transformed himself to black god in order to freed the black from evil
he sacrifice so much for us
notice the cross is still white
white is fair honest pure and energetic
why those PAP minister all wear white
and why doctor also wear white cloak
My bad, it was an assumption. It wasn't an answer.
Theres always male who is attracted to male. And the fact that why one is attracted to the opposite sex or their own WAS proven scientifically. If you still stick to your own view on that black is nothing but bad, then so be it. It's always fine to stick to your own view, but giving statements on things that doesn't make sense is totally wrong.
Human psychology on how black works doesn't make any sense does it? Because monsters in the MOVIE shows comes out only in the night? Because terrorist uses black bags? So that means practically, any black stuff will blow you up before you even realize so? And that being so, your statement will make perfect sense. However, its not even close to the truth that all black stuff will blow you up. Hence your statement is still invalid as to why black is bad.
And you've yet to give a reasonable nor logical statement that what makes black bad.
Oh, and to note of what Asher said, theres different religion. But to what I point out to, was Jesus Christ. Lets not touch on religion anymore, it is a topic too incomprehensible for us to talk about right now.
white is fair honest pure and energetic
why those PAP minister all wear white
and why doctor also wear white cloak
black is good in a way it looked sleek only
black is serious and formal is all i can say
if white is good
black being as a direct opposite colours
meaning it is bad
watch more movie esp those horror movie then you wil understand it
black are traditional colours of words
so when we move on
there is a need for a change
bad is not evil when you see black cloud in the sky
bad is not evil when you saw dark coloured monster in the space
bad is not evil when you saw some ninja and assination
bad is not evil when you locked yourself in the dark room

Ever desiring, you see the manifestations.

The FSM works in mysterous ways. The FSM just makes it seem that way, such is its power and wisdom. Try to prove this assertion wrong.

You're wrong. The FSM actually have been around and been worshipped by man-kind far longer than Christanity...or even Buddhism or any other religions, have been around. It had existed since the beginning of time when it first created man and the rest of the universe.
Its just that the FSM made it seem otherwise. Such is its divine power.
Can you disprove this?

People still believe in God because God's works are still being witnessed.
Perhaps you have not but others may have so they believe.People mock God even when they do not beleive in its existance because they are annoyed by the believers.

Many Atheists are now voicing out against religion after Creationism and IDism tries to invade Science with their unreason.
Religion should not demand respect and ask people to stop criticizing and refuting it, but should instead stand on their own merit.

The fact is this - people can do terrible things in the name of either one.
Atheists like Hitler, Stalin and Mao Zedong were just as capable of the terrible things that some early Christian leaders did.

Doing "in the name of" is very different from simply doing "as a".
Atheism is no motivation for any of those deed. It is unreason and irrationality that leads to evil.
A person of X-religion killing someone doesn't mean that X-religion leads to that murder. However if X-religion have certain teachings contained in its religious text that compels someone to kill unbelievers, then that's "doing in the name of".

Religion demands people to believe in certain claims without proof. I.e. the bible says so.
Science requires a skeptical mind, where there's no room for ABSOLUTE believe in anything. Even a well deviced model to describe the world around us can only be taken as a good approximation to the universe. THere's always a chance that in future, a new and more precise model will be developed. Nothing is static, and final. What seems to be right might one day be replaced with another better theory that gives us an even deeper insight of our world. I seriously doubt the questions would ever end. There's always new and harder questions to answer as we peel off the layers of an infinitely thick reality.
Without Science, we'd still be living in a world of ignorance.
We'd still be living in a dark age where people are burnt alive for being suspected as witches, people praying for the love ones to heal or pay money to faith healers for their illness, beliving that natural disasters are a work of some angry powerful beings,...etcEdited by Phorum Noob 20 Jan `08, 4:53PM

The debate was already over a very long time ago.
Creationalism and IDism have already been ruled by the courts that it is not a valid scientific theory and should never be taught in a Science class as 'Science'.
Here's a related old news on a small part of the debate.
