    • Aiyah, Just retire the AR-15, M-16 to all support arms and SAR-21 for all Infantry Units.

    • LOL. Wait till you look through the barrel. Chromium in rifling almost gone. Rounds ended up tumbling in its tragectory.... haiz....

Difference between the M16 and AR-15 is AR-15 does not have a bolt assist. So sometime after firing a weapon you get fouling in the system and the BCG does not lock in. That's where you get stoppages.

    • To be exact, M-16S1 have yet reached certain support arms. They are using Colt AR-15. cry.png Sad but true.

These units are those really small units that nobody wants or cares as they were attached out from the Army to the Air Force or vise versa. Once out of the Army's orbat, they get support from the Air Force who rather use the money on fuel for a few more hours of Air time.

So in the end, these small but highly effective, highly specialise, specialise skills, highly professional, almost totally independent units make do with AR-15s although they operate In Theatre.

    • Dang....!!!! And I let her get to me!!!!

She is a SOW too.... no wonder I felt that "kuniang" attitude emitting from her. She's literally a Kuniang then!!!!

Then what rite is she complaining about this in an earlier post??

      Quote:

      and

"You've gotta understand the mindsets of some people.

For them, nothing matters more than getting enough warm bodies to the frontline. Anybody who rebels gets thrown out to die as cannon fodder. I mean, let's squeeze every drop of usability out of them for the good of the nation, ethics be damned."

If she's a woman, then there is no way the men doing NS would be screwed her out of a job opportunity unless she is a hooker or street walker and all the eager for beaver boys gets confined for 3 weeks. LOL

Crazy logic this kuniang is giving....

    • Upgrade! Must upgrade!

Especially at the front of the turret, with some slope amour or reactive armour.

As long as they sharpen the base of the main gun.

The blunt front of the current A4 makes it look like WWII Tiger I.

      My personal opinion la. biggrin.png

This is the acutal picture of the CAAS griffon hovercraft.

It seem that Griffon 8000TD was selected to commonly operated by world wide SAR services which singapore CAAS is part of .

Griffon Hovercraft Ltd (GHL) has designed and built more diesel-powered hovercraft than any other company. This paper looks at the design and production of its largest design to date – the Griffon 8000TD – the first craft of which ran in May 2000, being the first craft of six delivered to the Indian Coast Guard. Since then different derivatives have been delivered to the Saudi Arabian Border Guard and the Korean National Maritime Police Agency. More are on order for the Saudi Arabian Border Guard and the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.

Griffon 8000TD, 14 of which are currently in service in India, Saudi Arabia, Korea and Singapore.

Sorry sorry.... I really thought they were Tiger 40's.

    • The F-18 with the Jolly Roger at its Vertical Stabiliser Fins just isn't the same compare to those on an F-14.  (Macross)

The Plastic Bug just isn't "SUD" enough.

    • They already decommisioned their F-14's and they'll be decomissioning their S-3 Vikings, A-6 Intruders, and E-6 Prowlers. In the future you will be seeing the deck of an American Carrier filled with F-18's only.

There is no difference in Job opportunities if your entire age group does the same 2 year NS. It has been on going since 1968. What kind of "Kuniang" excuse was that?

You couldn't possibly say you get screwed out of job opportunities if your peers other then females are doing the same thing and ORD at the same time with you and joining the job market about the same time.

What's the matter with you? You're not man enough to spend 2 years protecting your homeland like the rest of your predecessors. You meant to say it was safe for the last 40 years so what the hell it should be safe in the future? Where have you been hidding all this time? under a rock in Bukit Timah Hill?

Let me tell you, if not for the dedication and sacrifice of those predecessors, those pass generations of young men who did their NS, it wouldn't be this peaceful and safe as you would be enjoying right now. If you have not been so ignorant of the "situations" our country had gone through you would probably be more appreciative our arm forces. And that it is the pride and honour for every mother's father's son to serve.

Damn sometimes I'm so sad that there are so many defeatist and cowardly males in our country.

    • Ya sure, then we will have lots of "fags" that are do not know to carry arms and just let the invading force waltz right in to sodomize them.

    • But China's blue water navy still along way more before they can project the "power" leh.

Maybe because of ROC that US is inclined to be involved.

But China's Blue water navy will be meant for Spratleys. China's thirst for natural resources might make them claim the islands by force.

But even if they did..... got nothing to do with the US what....

But again.... Kuniang's nowadays might be more mentally "indoctrinated" due to inexhuastible indoctrination through NE in secondary schools to NS. But again  maybe not. tongue.png

Aiyah.... as long as when the button is pressed, and everybody is ready to stand and fight to the end, kuniang or ah beng is good enough by me.

In fact all weapons - are extremely sensitive to sea water. Even M-16 also have the same problem if you face with sea condition.

For units that operates often in sea - their weapons is pre-treated with a dark coating.

that is a very effective, i have handle both not -coated and coated M-16 - can tell you it make a whole world of different.

So what you mention actually happen to all rifles, but can easily be solved.

Ya.... I 'm just being bias. Must be all those hours or cleaning and oiling.

Maybe they were the earlier ones, the Mk I and II's. You can see all the tack welds on the sheet metal body. Not much of anodising left or if there was any at all in the first place.

Other then the cleaning issues... the weapon is a thrill to fire. And with the older weapons where there is no selector switch (heard there are 3 round burst) you turn the gas regulator to the the lowest you are able to squeeze of 1 or 2 rounds. Which make shooting really accurate. Almost 100% on target.

      Not bad for a LMG.

    • Cannot make it lah Ultimax 100.....  Not for the marines.

Mechanically the weapon is superb. Shoots well and really light.

But any SAW gunners out there will tell you the weapon due to the sheet metal stamping construction rusts. The weapon rust so easily even with mulitple cleaning and lots of oiling once it is carried out to the field the weapon becomes rusty. Remember those time doing river corssing at WET GAP. We SAW gunners practically have to use a can of WD40 to remove the rust on the weapon. From the Bipods to the internal of the receiver. RUST RUST RUST!!!!!

The marines comes into contact with salt water most of the time. Even the expeditionary force is base out in the seas most of the time. The salt in the sea air will be bad enough.

      CANNOT MAKE IT LAH!!!!

    • Ya, But nobody around here has one.

When the s * * t hits the fan you can bet your ass its gonna be conventional warfare. So please stop being those stereotype type about "no need to fight la... we so small 1 bomb and we are gone" BS.

With people like that talking all this crap we don't need any opposition propaganda to do us in.

    • If the government continue to make NS training tough, the motivation of NS men to actually fight WILL be very low. Just because people has some military training does NOT mean they will be a good soldier and be WILLINGLY to fight.

I have to disagree with this point.

What we are stressing on is not whether the NS men is willing to fight? But more importantly is whether he knows how to fight when the s ** t hits the fan.

Ray have you been in a fight? Not war but a fist fight or punch up? If you are not conditioned before, you will definitely end up with a bloody nose. (so to be speak) The very first punch that land on you, your emotional feelings take over. You might get angry or you might get very scared. Your emotions take over and determines your next action.

Training enables you to control the situation. The tougher the training or conditioning, the better you are able to think and act accordingly. You are able to weather the stress and think straight. Ever heard the old saying from the instructors. "Shag rite!!! Cannot think properly rite???" It is conditioning. All those verbal abuses even without vugarities is to stir up those emotions. To make sure you are able to control them. And not to act like a blur f * * k with confused actions.

    • I train with NSF and NS men during my yearly ICT. You can see the difference between the "Old Birds" and "New Birds". Frankly those men who went to National Service in the 80's and early 90's (well any thing earlier ORD loh) are very much tougher and more hands-on in the field. Frankly, I will go to war with these bunch any day.

Yes, you might say NSF men not so experience etc. But I really really feel that they are really a "kuniang" bunch. I saw a scout trying to hammer a demo hook to secure a colour panel on a grass field with this tinny whinny hammer. I practically snatch it off his hand and stomp the demo hook into the ground and shouted "WTF are you doing soldier!!!!" ... guess wat? The damn kid had tears in his eyes.

This is what we old timers are saying about putting back the "TOUGHNESS" in national service.
