      ridiculous.

this is my point...since you know that you cant control your body when you sleep, your weirdest and ugliest expression can come out of you at the most inappropriate place (like in the public). what if ppl stomp you at that instant. that is why I say if u sit on mrt, dont sleep. can u imagine the sight of seeing many open mouths on the train !

gracious enough to allow people to sleep, while on the other hand, people who choose to sleep in public must sleep graciously. everyone must do their part. just like people give you a vase as a present, you choose to decorate it with flowers instead of using it to hit people, rite? Because you are responsible and know that it is wrong to hit people with the vase that ppl gave it to you.

    • if everyone has this same mentality, Singapore can never be gracious, and other countries will catch up.

    • dont like the feeling of dangling.  moveover, there are times when didi misbehave and react at the wrong time, then it wont be nice to see didi bulge out in the weirdest angle. sometimes, it even affects the way u sit or walk.  dont u hv this experience?

    • I hate to say...but see many ugly faces when people sleep on the train.  They don't realise that their mouths were opened wide, their jaws droop, and some even drool.   Some stretch out their legs and potentially cause others to trip.

What a disgusting sight especially on the train when so many passengers stand and see these awful sights.  Can you all be more graceful?  Basic social ettiquette, please.

    • Share the same views as me that the following are their traits?

      1.  Phi...like to lean against the vertical stand on the train.  They are not meant for your body, but for your hands to grip so that others can share the same stand to hold onto it for stability and safety.  Be considerate.

      2.  Ind...like to stand very close to you, and squeeze between people.  Sometime you get to smell their unique odour.  Guess this is their culture and is due to their population in In....  Hope that they keep the 'social distance' wider as this is Singapore.

      3.  Chi...like to talk loudly, and in fact enjoy talking loudly.  Seems oblivious of surroundings.  Guess this is their culture.  Hope that they can lower their volume when they are on the train as we want peaceful environment on the train, after a hard day's work or study.

    • i hv to say that we definitely speak better english than the taiwanese.

having said that, we have a tendency to mispronounce and 'mix' certain words e.g. those starting with 'th' versus 't' such as 'three' vs 'tree'. someone who learns phonetic will spell them differently but typical singaporeans tend to pronounce them the same.  think our educators need to focus and emphasize the importance of pronunciation.

    • I can't believe that the Taiwanese have the cheek to criticise our English.  I am confident that we speak much much better English than the majority of Taiwanese.  Of course we have our slang and colloquial, and so are other English countries such as the UK and US.
