hey TS, dun worry, u wun kena any fine or jail term for not turning up. i made a grave mistake by turning up even though i'm more interested in pilot vocation. i got selected in the end. now downgraded to C2L2, my enlistment date delayed like shit...1 advice for you if u r not interested: ignore the letter, they wun bothered to charge or fine u...trust mi!

Well i had to write out a 2 page appeal letter, and with some help through another channel, they granted the interview. but i had a feeling they didn't like sispec ppl, coz there were 3 from sispec and all failed including me.

They asked easy questions for the OCS ppl, such as the difference between F16C and D, the types of aircraft in RSAF. But for me, they asked stuff about syfc, which are the bad stuff. they asked bout my leadership qualities.. what would make a good leader.. etc. Quite unfair in the end, i had a feeling they just wanted me out. The question i remembered them asking was "can a specialist be a pilot" and i answered why not. the job is there, doesn't matter what rank to fly.

must have bruised that major's ego.
Anyway from that interview, could tell that they're not looking for talent, just someone who can be easily trained.

if u have talent, go someplace else that appreciates it.

i was in your shoes 3 months ago. passed my compass test last nov and was called up for interview on 19th march this year and unfortunately, i failed it. i was asked about leadership stuff and i guess the panel thinks that i'm not being very honest with them about my syfc records. the recruitment officer (a major) asked mi to make it into ocs and reapply again may be to show them that i hav leadership qualities n stuff. another bad thing happened again, posted to commandos on 11th july and the recruitment officer ask mi to make it into commando OCS,i'm like wateva...hahaz...another worse scenario happened, i downgraded from pes A to C2L2 for temporary 3 months. they sent mi a new enlistment letter for pes c bmt on 24th oct but i'm only downgraded for 3 months, how the hell i'm gonna make it into oct batch unless the MO further extend my downgrade period. basically my life is pretty screwed up now,100 times more screwed up than TS. i got an advice for you TS: ALWAYS LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE! join SIA if you really wana fly...   

i juz downgraded yesterday leh. is it possible for them to answer my application? so if i send them tt completed form, will i remain as pes C2L1 but go through the 9-week enhanced bmt or upgraded to pes A or B first before going through the enhanced bmt?

hey guys, help needed here urgently! i recently downgraded temporarily from pes A to C2L1 for 3 months due to an injury in my kneecap. i was supposed to enlist into commandos on 11th july but my enlistment date has been changed until further notice. the cmpb person told mi i may enlist as late as next yr due to the heavy frequency and full slots of  this yr's pes C intakes.

 

I'm wondering when are the pes C intakes this yr and will they possibly call mi for enlistment next yr?

 

i'm also wondering if i'm not enlisted after 3 months have passed, will i be able to upgrade back to pes A or B and join the enhanced bmt in oct?

 

Also will i get back my 2 months reduction if i'm upgraded to pes A or B?

looking at all your posts, i feel so guilty for  downgrading temporarily from pes A to C2L1. i was supposed to be enlisting into commandos on 11th july but now i'm out due to an injury in my kneecap. my parents say its not worth it to risk my moblity juz for the red beret or what people say honour and glory. its true that fatalities do happen in the army but what i think TS should be worried abt is sustaining an injury. i feel that onli the really suey siao ones will die in army la. u can die anywhere in the world not necessarily in the force. the army personnel should take better care of our soldiers and enforce safety and stuff la...other than that, we as soldiers should also take care of not only ourselves but also others. i will definitely upgrade to pes A or B after 3 months if possible. no more red beret for me in this lifetime though. 

i just downgraded to pes C2L1 today due to a injury in my kneecap. i went down w/o any medical or specialist memo and the MO just downgrade mi temporarily for 3 mths. and i was supposed to enlist into commandos on 11th july. now i'm awaiting a new enlistment date... most probably into pes c 7 wks modified bmt...

i believe that experiencing BMT will help you make a proper final decision...

i believe those mono-intake formations like commandos, NDU and police will only choose one member from each family la. i'm not sure abt the reason behind it but thats wat i have observed.  

interesting! but i kinda confused. i thought everyone who passed out from commando bmt muz go thru BCT 1st before being posted to other units like cdo section leader's course, signals and stuff etc.

no choice la...this is how cmpb works man! thats why there are a few people complaining about their working system. i believe there may still be letters received next month by those enlisting in june/july batch. even army conscription also depends on your education level: jc first, then poly and ite...supposing a lvl people confirm can go local unis la...

i got a friend who just receive his enlistment letter today. he's going in on 13 sep bmtc sch 1...
