There are moments in my life where i get furious and i won't go into details (it's better this way) but i hate the feeling of having being filled with anger and being unable to control my actions and thoughts clearly. Are there any practical ways to calm myself down? Any ways to overcome the anger so that i can continue with my work? Do tell whatever ideas you have in your mind. It's for my project and myself too

wow guys. it has come to me that most students actually do not know the real harships of polytechnics and junior colleges and that most students who choose polytechnic think it's going to be a breeze going through it compared to junior college, top 5% which is very hard to get plus a gpa of at least 3.5 i think. Where junior college on the other hand, despite having more hardships than polytechnic, the hours put into studying just to do well, they have a more suitable enviroment for studying and even with that, an average grade is not able to lead them to enter a polytechnic, however in junior college, there is no limit to how many students are able to enter universitys as long as they do well enough.

You guys are awesome. Im wondering though how this topic changed to olympics "gratitude to the person". So what are some other factors which affect our decisions when we were secondary students to choose poly over jc? Anything which comes into your minds. Leave the dirty stuff out though. And yes, chio bu has been said many times so hope it won't appear yet again. Thanks for the effort.

Apreciated for your replies. Thing is im not looking for a clear cut answer on why this is better than that like one person said. i just need your opinions on the trend where now, polytechnic doesn't seem so inferior to junior college and more students seem to be going to polytechnics compared to ancient times. And please don't worry, out project has a due date, so sooner or later this topic will close. All the more the reason to type out all your ideas now!
Thanks to people who put into real thought into what their typing

So. from my experience, the reason why now these days students are choosing polytechnics over junior colleges could be because that they did not do enough research on both types of pre-universities? or could they most of them have just blindly listened to advice of friends who said things like, "poly is very slack one" and have a general idea that since i specialize in poly, i can find a job, since poly life is very carefree and i can have fun all day, while not considering other downsides of polytechnics which, if anyone could, please do kindly post in this topic.

Again. Thanks for the replies. Although next time please refrain from using chio bu and stuff like that. We'll talk about that later on. So from what im seeing, actually poly and jcs are pretty well equal? If you do not agree do give your own opinions and why. It seems that people are getting wrong ideas that in polytechnic, you can 'slack' more than in jc. Maybe it could be because of the freedom given? But from what im seeing, to actually do well in both poly and jcs, everyone has got to really study and put in effort (obviously) and maybe it could be that students in polytechnics are given the freedom and expected to manage their time well and to me personally, more than that of jc students because of the system which defers in both polytechnic and jc? On the other hand, It could actually be easier to go to universities as junior college students compared to polytechnic students who has in one way or the other, 'specialized' in their field but has to make the top 10% mark.

Thanks for the replies guys. The thing though is, is it all government propaganda? i mean some students and to put it truthfully even i myself had a mindset that polytechnic was going to be easier than junior college and all these crazy ideas were from friends even some adults. Maybe it could be that there really are some important benefits which polytechnics have over junior colleges that make them attractive? If you guys have any ideas of any please do type it out here. Gladly appreciated.

Hi General Public,
We are students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and we are currently doing a project about Polytechnic and Junior College students. We are investigating a current trend where secondary school graduates who do well in their O’levels exams choose to enrol in a Polytechnic instead of a Junior College even though they can qualify for a Junior College. We are posting this thread to try and ask the general public why they think this trend is occurring. Please do share your honest views.
