Perhaps it would be more fair to assess what "smarter" really means in this context? If you mean the ability to apply a certain manner of thinking into producing the type of papers thats sought after once you enter your tertiary education, then perhaps. However it wouldn't be fair to judge it based on purely that criteria alone.
Anyone who's been through NS will tell you that while it is certainly restrictive, often that forces you to be even more creative/resourceful in order to get what you need/want while staying within the boundaries of the rules you encounter. Thinking out of the box, while being in one...so to speak. Thats as valuable a skill as any

Enhanced simply means you've met the educational requirements, there are usually two variants - Direct Enhanced / PTP Enhanced, for those who have / have not passed their NAFA respectively.
Achieving a Silver for your IPPT doesn't grant you anything special, all it means is that you might be allowed to skip any Re-Training (RT) that the rest might have to put up with till they get at least a pass.
Enjoy your BMT =D

'When it was victory,' remarked Field Marshal Wavell (1883-1950), 'the Cavalier claimed it outright, the Gunner boasted of his calibre, the Engineer and Signalman publicised their worth, but the Infantryman stood silent with victory at his feet.'
Needless to say, I was an infantryman.More importantly how in the world does this relate to his point about the way in which current uni's self-advertise? Its a tad...redundant.

Welcome to Changi Defense Squadron, alot like FDS, training will be at Changi Navel Training Base, RSS Panglima.
I OOC'd from SSC8, you'll be from SSC9, the training is extremely physically extensive, very regimental, the bunks are unlike anything in BMT, they are in near perfect shape. Ultimately your job scope will basically be a "super" RP, 12 week course, get ready for lots of IPPT / SOC / Swim training. Min Silver to pass the course. You will learn M203 / SAW / GPMG, and some other theory stuff. After you finish the course, you will go for a 2 week on the job training, and then you continue with duty, at either Changi Navel Base or Tuas Navel Base. If you are from BMT you will be man under CPLs who will also train with you, by the time you go to the posting, they would've just passed out from SISPEC BSLC.
Learn this name : SWO Balvinder Singh. You'll know why soon
Course is the most fun you'll have there, but you'll get alot of fun exposure, foreign warships coming in etc, so its not so bad. Just get ready for a big culture shock coming from the Army.
Enjoy!

Just received my "Singapore" tags today from my unit, same size etc, the background is the same color as the tan light brown patches on the no.4, formation tags will come later from what i've heard, and the name-tags will have to be re-sewn in the same color / format as the new ones.

Cheers, but the pic was purely for color comparison, i'm sure as hell not sewing it on like that
