i just returned from a very happy and enjoyable R&R trip overseas when my dad told me along the way home that another love on had passed away.
my former nanny who took care of me since i only mths old till i was 13 succumbed to ovarian cancer while i was overseas and when they discovered she didnt have much time left, she instructed my parents not to tell me anything for fear of affecting my duties and emotions there.
somehow in life i had the luck of having these 2 women who took great efforts to care for me, made sure i returned home safely, absorbed and tolerated my tantrums.
my parents placed me under her care when i was only a few mths old because she was my neighbour and both my parents were working. since then i was there during the day until sec sch. whenever i returned from sch to her place, she would chase me for my smelly uniform to wash and have my lunch. or making sure i was ready for the school bus when i had afternoon sessions.
i'll always remember those rides i took with my nanny and her husband on the old cranky lorry which he used as part of a house moving business. she refused to let me sit near the windows for fear tht my itchy hands and head would pop out and injure myself whenever she took me out while she ran errands.
i always admired her thriftiness by returning used bleach bottles for that 50cents and tried her best despite her age and weak legs to get whatever food i wanted. she always tried to cook extra servings of dishes that i loved and didnt mind if i polished off everything. but she had a weak spot for pastries sold near my sec sch though.

last nov, my gran died after a brief fight with cancer(i believe it's pancreatic) because it was discovered only at the last stage.
she didnt go for any treatments because they felt tht she was too weak for any especially at her stage of cancer.
till now i kept the 2 sms my parents sent to me first to inform me of her prognosis and 2nd was to tell me that she didnt have much time left and asked me to be prepared to take emergency leave at a short notice.
on 18th nov, i was at the motorshow but somehow i had this nagging feeling to go back home. something was tugging at me to go back home but i didnt know what.
on my way back, i smelt something weird which was damn familiar. tht smell 'came' frm my gran's room.
soon after i got home, she had trouble breathing and was staring into blank space. so we called everyone to be at her side. she didnt last too long after everyone arrived. she left us at 2109hours. i can never forget that day.
during her funeral, i never cried, somehow. others did. my eyes only watered when we bid her the final farewell as her coffin was sent in.
today was 100days frm that day. even till this day, my heart aches whenever i pass by her room or think about her.
at least now she can rest beside her hubby. she is 1 feisty woman. widowed at a young age and brought up 9kids on her own without remarrying. she can spoil us and rain hell on my aunties for spending $1 more on bean sprouts all on the same breath.

In any event, computer cases are BIG and the boxes in which they are shipped are even bigger due to the foam cushioning. I'd say that S$88.50 to have it shipped from California to Singapore is about normal for a package of that size and weight.
But why did you purchase a computer case from the US? Isn't there a better selection in Singapore?i bought one from US after exhausting all options in singapore. not sold in sg u see.

shut up.
