    • Cool, tat's very innovative of u! I like this.
It'll be better if u can try spraying colour on the transparent materials,
probably chrome... to make it more professionally done?
Anyway, tat's a great job done Very Happy

    • Hiyo,
      i'm personally & basically a 2nd hand model buyer.
I don't ask for perfect condidion, cos i know it's not possible.
Basically, i dont buy to sell, but buy to collect.
      My criteria are in order:
      1)Model Type (JDM)
2)Price (within my budget or its value)
3)Flaws (i dont mind small amt of bubbles, insignificant scratches or minor miscolouration, but no missing/broken parts, smugging paint-jobs & paint chips.)

I'm not e kind of picky & fussy buyer, cos i know wad i'm buying.
I buy a model as a piece of art & design, for hobby & passion,
not as a trader or retailer.

Some ppl r fussy, cos they want absolute value for money,
or perhaps they know someday they will want to sell part of their collection
to make way for new ones or new themes.
Some others also see model collecting as investing, when they aim for rare,
outta production or LimitedEdition models to resell at high prices.

It really depends on how u see e issue to be,
cos there r indeed cheapos out there who will buy in at low cost & sell at ridiculous prices, wif e sole intent of making profis.

    • Yea, for combined photoshoots,
usually put in boxes & boxes into bags.

But if dont hav box already,
i usually find a shoe-box of same size
& stuff some styrofoams or rolled newspapers around e model to protect it.
Tis is as much as i'll do.

    • Yep, e guys r absolutely right.
We've been there, done that, so we know.

Also recommend u decide on e kinda cars u love,
      & decide on a theme.

Most of us started out collecting randomly frm Maisto, Burago & HWs,
      & ended up :
      1) Craving for models on higher ends eg. Autoart, Kyosho, den BBR & CMC.
      2) Selling away budget models & restartin a theme frm scratch (waste of $)

Reason i'm saying tis is because
      i've started out collecting randomly,
& spent tonnes of time & money trying to sell away old models,
jus to rebuild my JDM theme.

Cos for a 15yr old teenager as u,
i recommend u decide on e theme, & your first model,
den save up to buy 1 good model instead of many lower-end ones.

I saved up 9mths for my first gd model i didnt regret,
which was e UT McLaren #59 i got frm NIKKO tat time.

Welcome to SGDC & Happy Diecasting ! Very Happy

    • Sure enough, the carpet material u put really
makes it looks like a proper car instead of a plastic toy.
It's jus a little piece of felt, but it really adds a magic touch to e whole feeling of e interior of e models.
      Excellent job!

    • Hmm.. cool it, buddies.. sense some tension here.
It's ok to disagree wif one another..
cos differences makes us see things from a dif point of view Very Happy
Let's jus put e tension down awhile,
& maybe wait for Mattel to release more details of tis 430 GT, yea?

I would certainly consider getting it, if it is priced reasonably.
      Cheers ! Laughing

    • Hi guys, Eddy & i were thinking of mass-ordering
e kind of acrylic display stand, where we can put multiple models on 1 slot.

We'll need find a company or retailer who custom-makes these stands
      to specific dimensions.

Who's keen? & most importantly, who has any idea or contact to
tis kind of retailer or manufacturer?
      Thanks!
