Air defence doesn't consist only of I-Hawk which I think in any case is difficult to justify deployment for. I think I-Hawk also takes a long time to deploy so unless they had ready-to-fire systems on 24hr standby it would not be the best solution in this case.
Besides its quite overkill because the I-Hawk is, what, half the length of the Cessna.

Is true.
Well, so there are none, or at best very few, of them in these services and vocations.
I don't really care about the reasons, but it's not great when CNY guard is all done by Chinese this year. Damn sian.

If access is closed to them, then they must either walk the fence perimeter to the front gate along Sembawang Road (ala the 2.4 km route), or alight at Yishun MRT instead before changing to the No.171 bus (extra half a hour's ride, for the waiting & the traversing of the HDB estate).
The nearest to MRT? I'll go with Chong Pang Camp, very near to Yishun MRT although I can't quite recall which side the camp gate is. Stagmont Camp in Teck Whye is also relatively close to CCK MRT, right?
Interesting topic.Well, Chong Pang isn't very close, it's 3 bus stops away and at least 15 mins away by foot. Though I think it's already one of the most convenient around.
Amoy Quee is quite close to YCK if the short cut I took last time can still be used.Edited by whitenoise 12 Jan `08, 11:41AM

I wish they can mate a pair of 50 cals or 40mm AGL with air burst ammunition in the rear compartment then it's able to have more effective anti air and even anti infantry ability.Possibly space constraints because the M113 is a small vehicle and because they probably will not encounter ground troups directly. But why the Igla? For a modern SAM, its kill probablity is very low.
