    • Its normal i guess. In NS, the culture is such that if you do anything that is wrong in the eyes of your peers, you will get humiliated. "Tio suan" in army lingo. So it just gets into a person after awhile, and you start to berate people who seem inferior to you without knowing it. And sometimes, you simply want to be alone during the weekends because you have been seeing so many people everyday, you just want to blank out. At least that is my case.

I do get insensitive to other peoples feelings. It is only when somebody told me about it that i realise I am being such an ass. But thankfully I am discharged from service, officially a free man. Wahaha

    • If you can endure it, then by all means, support your friend. But if you find that your friend is actually affecting your life, your school work, your social life, then i suggest that you pull ot before you get pulled into the abyss too.

    • Dude, you gotta clear up 2 barriers. One conceptual and one psychological.

Conceptual is easy. If your maths foundation is weak, no matter how long you stare at the paper, the paper is just going to stare back at you. Go get a tutor. Go get a mentor from school. Go and do something, anything.

Psychological is much harder. Most importantly, don't dispise yourself. A person who dispise himself, will always go down on a road to failure. Look at the mirror , is it a wretched face you see in the mirror? Don't you hate it? Then do something about that face. Buck up and say I can do it, I will do it.

Is there any distractions at home that will hinder you from working? For me, its the computer. In the past i will just disassemble the computer and reassemble it back during the holidays.

But with things like project work, I can't do that. That is a waste of time. So i do all my self study a few rooms away from my computer.

Do your best dude. At the age of 15, you haven't even reach 1/4 of your life time yet. There is a very long way to go. So don't think of this as the end. As you go past one stage after another, you find that all those previous stages were just so insignificant. It would have been such a waste to have ended everything during those previous stages of your lives. The future is much more important than the past. So live on for the futre. Don't let the past hinder your future.

    • Well, why don't you go to the middle of raffles place or speakers corner and air your views from there? Speaking through the anonymity of the internet is totally irresponsible and cowardly. Your actions are totally childish and its leaning towards racism. No matter how you explain yourself, the fact is you are not giving any respect to the people here and in my oppinion, warning you is way too polite. Don't force the adminstrators pull out your details in the name of national security.  You are not as anonymous as you think you are.

Please, if you want us to respect you in any way, learn to respect others.

Do remember that during the Rape of Nanking time, it is also during the time PRC and KMT are also fighting each other despite a ceasefire."

Shows your absolute ignorance in this matter. The japanese are forever "proving" with their tiny dick scientists that the photos were fake and yadadadada while meanwhile Amensty International, the red cross, the un, the soviet union( now russia) and even goddam fucking America has statisitcs that show at least 300,000 people died directly to japanese hands in Nanking. And FYI, its not fucking PRC VS Kuomingtang its the COMMUNIST PARTY vs KMT and i would say its absurdly retarded you assume they would be fighting in china's fucking capital while the japanese rape their daugthers and wives and kill their sons.

Closer investigation? OTHER THAN THOSE JAP WANKS, CITE ME A FUCKING SOURCE FOR THIS. You fucking can't. Oldest forumite indeed. Senile with fucking age.

As passionate as you are, you can always reply in a nice civilised manner. No need to be rude. You are just discrediting yourself even if you are right. State your points clearly and concisely. You may attack his points but not the person himself.

Now, it is clearly pointless for me to shove my views into your face because you have kept an extremely strong stance in your views it will be pointless to try to argue with you till the cos come home.

But my views here will be as follows.

WW2 had been a very terrible war. Millions of people have died, all have suffered. But even among the fog of war, you can see the bright side of the people involved, as well as their dark side. Would it be fair then to accuse the good people for the actions of the evil ones?

The fact is, I believe the Japanese gov should apologise. But the world should be prepared to let go too. Those who have been involved, are already dead or dying. Would it be fair for the next few generations to fight over what the past has done? If that is the case, what lessons have we learnt from the past? To hate one another with each other's guts? Just because my grandpa fought with their grandpa? I find it irrelevant.

The world have to move on. It is time for the world to cooperate rather than to fight over an issue that has been there for the past 70 years.

    • Ji beh...when your kid comes back with a permenant knee cap injury or a back injury then you will wonder whether NS should be made tougher or not. How many chaps i have seen who are able bodied but ended up damaging parts of their bodies during training.

in fact, when china invaded Vietnam, it was almost like a major collaboration between the rest of SEA and China.
