You see, I have a long history of job hopping & job (sobs) sacking. Office jobs also cannot, retail jobs also cannot (too shy) I only have my O's & I don't know what I want to do. I sometimes think that even if I do something that I like, I still mess it up in the end :(

I actually have a very serious problem with my way of presenting myself & I always seemed to be too tense & I felt pretty awkward everytime I speak to people. Today, my supervisor commented that I looked scared & shy (as usual with everywhere I go) I am so afraid that this will be another job that will be gone down the drain just like my previous.

I've been trying so hard to conceal my 'disability' but to no avail. Everytime I open my mouth, something always comes out wrong & it makes people look at me funny, sometimes even angry or they don't understand me at all.

Another thing is, I am also pretty blur so I can't really do things that requires me to pay very detailed attention to it.

      I suck man, I can't do this, I can't do that...sometimes I think I suck at working..no talent at all..is there such a thing??

Why can't you do office job? There are many office jobs like admin assistant which don't really need much talking (or at least not to stranger).

And many jobs in retail don't need much talking also. I had worked as sales assistant in Watson before and the job required more manual work (like pricing, packing, cashier, etc) than customer facing.

Shyness can be overcome, you just need to talk to more people to build up your confidence. Start with your friends, colleagues first.

And if you know you are blur, than just note down all the outstanding tasks and do them one as a time

Referendum from the people? They will probably confirm and bring Samak back to power again. Then what, another round of demonstration?

Yes, I also like 李佩芬 (li pei fen). She very funny and cute!!! She's only 20 but has 13 years of getai experience!!! She usually doing host for the getai now instead of singing.

A lot of people here think getai for uncle and auntie. So wrong!!! A lot of the hosts and singers on stage are young and chio! The performance also very professional, can beat Singapore Idol anytime.

    • If all look like supermodel here, the birthrate will fall to 0%. All will rather marry Caucasions instead of Singaporeans (already many Singapore women are looking forwards to marrying Caucasions even though their looks cannot make it). tongue.png

With only 2k/mth, only enough to support yourself. No money to buy big house, car, hire maid, etc. Some girls may not even want to marry you with so little salary!

I do like to make a point that even for men, not everyone can be a medic, some macho gung ho idiots see blood liao can faint, see needle can faint, see people disallocate elbow no blood still can faint, etc. So same applies to women, not every female is going to be suitable to be in medic/health vocations even u make NS mandatory for them.

Women can go for other non-combat vocation also mah. What about cook? Then no need to outsource to Singapore Food Industries (SFI) anymore.

Also can enlist women to be clerk (so make it harder for those guys who "keng" PES C to become clerk and fairer to those PES A and B),

    • Instead of giving goodie, gov penalize single Singaporean by only allowing to buy resale HDB flat upon reaching 35. So if you want to buy new HDB with subsidy, have to get married.

It is to supplement their income. Whatever that may be. The specially challenged who are collecting cans are doing so for their minders.

The poor can never be eradicated, no matter what government does, some will always go that way, down and out.

If the government were to give $1million to each and every citizen, it would just be a matter of time before the poor would emerge again, and start collecting cans. And of course the government would be blamed for that too.  teeth.png  teeth.png  teeth.png

So your hobby is also collecting can? smile.png

The poor has to collect can to supplement their income because it is not enough to survive. Alternative is to go begging (which is illegal) or start selling tissue (begging ppl to buy tissue which most don't need but is legal?).

Strange that the gov keep saying there plenty of help available for the very poor yet it seem it is not enough. So what our gov doing?

    • Yes, Singaporeans are selfish. And so do foreigners. Everyone is selfish in one way or another.

And why don't you stand out and politely ask the people sitting to give up their seats to this man instead of snapping photo and doing nothing? I am sure they would if you do if you have asked for that man (unless they have super thick skin). So aren't you selfish as well?

Few gather at forums and bitch about how much they know about the government but none ever does anything to help this country.

We pay tax, we serve NS to protect the country. Every citizen in other countries do more or less the same for their countries. How else you want us to "help this country"?

PAP don't like opposition to come into politic. So the only way is to join PAP and become a MIW? teeth.png

    • Anyway, I am really interested to know how the gov is helping these group of people. Is the help sufficient? If yes, why they still need to go and collect trash?

I heard some arguments before that some of the elderly do it as they are fiercely independent and don't want to reply on other people or are too free (which I simply think is crap). pig.png

Yes i agree, there are plenty to be done for our seniors who may not fully benefit from the CPF system due to late introduction.

But i also think that they themselves, being strong-willed and determined as they used to be, should seek our better alternatives rather than the gathering cans. For example maybe working at a hawker center as a part time stall helper.

I know its stupid of me to comment so much about this when im sitting in the comfort of my home behind my com, but i do think that this is the time their past ideology comes into play.

With our help and their never-say-die attitude, they will surely come out of their poverty cycle, to hell with whatever the govt may provide.

It surely beats the routine collection of cans.

Yes, it is stupid. Like the Chinese saying "who want to be bald if have hair"? You think the old folk would prefer to go collect trash can if they can have a proper job as a stall helper (which probably pay at least 10 times more than what they are earning!!!).

If you are a store owner, would you hire an elderly who is slow and take like 5 min to clear 1 table and have problem remembering order?

Oh yes, I remember there's still a job around for them. Nowadays, everywhere I go, I see old people starting to sell tissue papers too. But seriously, people who buy from them is usually due to compassion more than the need (it's cheaper and quite convenient to go and buy tissue paper from any convenient store instead when needed anyway).

No, there isn't. The employer would rather employ young and cheap foreigner workers if there are any other jobs around.

AT least we have a government that doesn't make critical mistakes.

Haven't you been following up on our country's politics with Malaysia a few years ago?

Tell me you want Mahathir to run Singapore or even swap government with Malaysia.

I would've imagine you hopping mad like a bunny if you were a Malaysian.

Wow, after reading your post, I am so proud my gov don't make critical mistakes. By the way, are they paid their million dollar salaries so as not to make critical mistakes?

Oh yes, they don't make "critical" mistake, only "honest" mistake. But let's move on. teeth.png

    • Singapore PM's legal pay is the highest.

But Chen Shui Bian going to get charge and may face legal action. If Chen Shui Bian  had increased his own pay like what our PM did, he will not have to face all the troubles he's facing now.
