Yeap.. I admit i belong to the more lan san lan san group of plp.. But i dun slack!!! My work load rather heavy, with responsibilites weighing on me..

Okie.. Into my job scope.. Working as a nurse in a clinic downtown.. So.. My responsibilites include like stock taking.. Assisting docs.. Listing for surgeries.. Tons of paper work.. Tons of clinical supplies to do..

Not tat i'm complaining.. This is my job scope after all.. Prob is.. Time!!! I'm so time deprived!!! There is so much of things to do, & time is jus so short!!!

Is like.. Perharps the world is as such... This R under your care... Ur domain.. U handle.. Each call.. Downright to every simple details.. All come looking for me..

Hey..  No more this.. No more that.. No one lifts a finger to help.. Esp with packing of clinical stuff.. It's so time consuming!!

Fine.. Struggling by to cope.. Been in it for a year half.. I started out with one boss..

Recently come out a 2nd boss.. WORST!!!! We have associate docs.. All join tog and i ended up with 4 bosses!!!!

Darn!! Not onli tat.. I'm still coping with an extra boss down here!!! Coz i'm the onli nurse around.. Majority of the work load of our new boss falls on mi!!! Assistanting.. Cleaning up instrument.. No one else know anything..

Our associate is upstairs in another clinic.. Me! Is aimed to go out to help out during our not so buzy schedule to help cope with the shortage of stuff..

They have reduced from 4! down to only 2!!!!

During non peak time is the time i can sit down.. Clear my stuff.. I'm so.. Tied up!

I need to submit my work on time.. If anything is not done or not ready.. I kena.. Then.. I'm still send up to help out!!

I control..

Next.. The other clinic staff.. Take advantage of us!!! God know how true or false it is.. Always say they can't handle.. Their counter can't have onli one staff to handle.. Please! My side here is no beta.. Also have one staff at counter.. & also same.. 4 telephone lines!

How come is it tat we can handle yet they cant? Juz becoz we do not know how to complain?? We jus tak all the shit that comes..

And.. Usually for this test.. NOT RELATED TO NURSING AT ALL!!! I'm the preferred one to do..

The ONE TRAINED in this field.. Couldn do it properly.. Make a mistake once & nobody wants her to do it any more..  So it's me again!!

I'm not boasting or so.. Coz it's relatively a simple test.. Jus need to grasp the explaination.. Fine.. So.. Each time there is this test.. I'm aim to do it..

Some times i took a short rest.. Eg.. Time off.. Coz we always OT and thus claim it as hours.. When not running a full clinic.. We tak turns to go on off.. Half a mornin or so..

Upstairs boss specifically look for mi.. Make sure u around on 14th april 2008.. 2 weeks from now!!!

Fine.. But wat if i happen to have something on? Does tat mean i've to be around?? Then how am i ever goin to go on leave??? Fine.. If it's onli once.. Not as if i already have plans and need to cancel.. I'm jus afraid.. What if this goes on???

I'm going beserk!!!

Most importantly.. 4 boss R not enough.. Joining in a 5th one!!!

Plus.. This 5th one will require alot of this test.. Mi and mi again!!!

When it this ever goin to end???? 

Comtemplate leaving time and time again.. Yet.. I'm too comfortable.. I know my scope well.. I know what to do.. Comfortable with my @ 1st only under 1 boss de boss..

Though merge is merge.. Plus minus still under individual.. No matter wat.. Is them who employed us in the 1st place..

The merging is just to deploy stuff here & there..

Is it fair?? They didn even ask us.. Perharps it's the way? I dunno.. I didn sign any bond.. But contact states my boss is onli ONE!!!

I reali dunno what to do.. But this is reali stretching my limit through!!

I'm truely shocked & aghasted!!!

Coz i'm working as a nurse myself.. I've been to attachment to Mt A, govt hosp lik TTSH.. But i have never come across such neglience!!!!

This is truly too much & a lot of distress caused to family members..

I think they will only keep trying to cover up coz this has too much implication.. To give an overdosage, even to miss giving the drug is enough to cause a nurse to lose her job!!!

Back to my boss..

There was this once i stayed back till abt 7pm. offical time is 5.30.. okie.. i'm not paid overtime!!

But coz we normally work past our office hrs.. we tak it as time off when there is no clinic runnin.. eg.. we could go back earlier when no noon clinic..

i was headache abt the stock coz not tally and jus implement a new system.. there was no time to do with full runnin of clinic.. plus i need submit the list of things my colleague is supposed to key into the system.. etc..

The best time was to stay back.. when i jus told her i'm goin off.. our usual routine.. she said.. why u so late still haven go back?

Oh. no lah.. i need to finish off the stock take coz no time le.. she had the cheek to say tat.. "muz be u tak time off at the wrong time that why no time to do!!!"

I was like.. i jus did it yest!! on a mon.. i stayed back on tues.. She goin on leave by fri.. which i need it done by then!!! wed , thurs, whole dae occupied..

We each have our own duties to cover..

Basically i'm bao ka liao.. From drugs to low stock which i have to monitor.. Monitorin some special eye appt in eye center.. All surgery under mi.. Plus the washin of instruments.. even the stupid fridge coz it has some drugs in it become my responsibility to pack.. all the stuff that need to be wrapped like cotton balls, wools.. guaze.. etc.. So many small little items..

If there is time, i dun mind.. thing is.. there isn much time.. gonna balance btw ur paper work and the manual stuff..

When patient fail to turn up b4 their surgery date for an appt, it became my fault coz i failed to monitor.. Yeah.. My fault.. i tot tat at least they have the decency to call to cancel the surgery if they dun wan it.. jus keep quiet till i realise the week of the op when i wan to do prep..

I'm jus so tired..

Other plp expect u i shld say mi to noe all the job.. Alot of other job supposely the optometrist shld do become my duty durin clinic too.. takin of the eye ball photos.. using a machine to check out visual field.. I'm not trained at all in this!

YET!! The optometrist who is trained in this.. onli noe the theory but have never ever done it b4 in work!!!!

I'm expected to noe counter work.. TAt is our receptionist job..How all the billing is done, etc.. I'm jus short of helpin out to chase debts.. Settle petty cash & doin small account..

I'm also expected to noe how to check the glasses power.. Do a basic vision check on the patient when optometrist is alone.

Noe how to do filing and where all the files are when the person in charge in not around.. PRactically everything!!!!

Packing the boss room is either mi or the clinic assistant.. of coz no one else helps..

I'm the onli one expected to noe everybody's duty but no one noes abt mine!!!!

Come anythin to surgery.. Oh.. I will put you to my staff nurse..

Abt drugs, all also come to mi.. Worst.. When the stock supply is low.. There are some medication which i put in other cabinet out of the usual place coz of space constriction..

Plp could say tat.. I'm not in charge of drugs.. Its ur duty to top up mah.. REcept said tat.. And she will say.. I dunno how to do vision check. IT's not expected of mi. I need to stay at counter can already..

Okie.. to give credit.. she sometimes help out with puttin of eye drops when clinic is short handed..

So gam.. I suddenly on m.c.. Of coz not i choose the date!! I Haven finish checkin out the drugs prices for my boss coz on sat.. most are close..

But i did put in all the company and tel no in it.. so the job is half done.. onli need to ask the cost, any bonus..

for the 2 days i was sick.. they finally got a taste.. the boss hunt them.. alot of demands... wants to noe how many tab in a box.. packing.. country of origins.. blah blah blah..

they got irriated with mi.. sorta of lah.. of coz they dun say out aloud.. but could tell from their attitude lik it is my fault.. told mi u choose the wrong dae to mc ah.. i jus quiet..

Haha.. After reading the few post up here in sgforums.. I feel tat my prob is v insignficant.. Yet.. I jus feel so frustrated.. I need a vent to let out!

Now working for abt a year le.. In a clinic as a nurse..

I reali dunno why but i feel extremely unhappy.. Esp each time it's a sun.. I got the sun blues.. I jus feel so down that the nx dae is mon & i got to go work.. & up crying in my bf arms..

Jus hate the feelin so much tat i could change from totally enjoying in the dae time to a sunken lifeless person.. I can't slp.. coz i dun wan the nite to end..

This is my 1st job.. I've no experience anywhere at all.. Thus.. I'm always so afraid of my boss.. Speak to her v softly.. Haha..

But thing is.. She tends to "bully" mi.. Mayb i more kid & one of the youngest in the clinic.. My other colleague.. She is a year older than mi.. But she is more streetwise and have worked b4 abt 4 years.. So the way she talk is much more mature than mi.. Boss all talk to them show then respect..

Whenever she speaks to mi.. Not all the time.. But most of the time she is the harshest to mi.. N alot of things pick on mi.. Mayb coz i'm the nurse there.. Gonna tampa become her personal assistance as well..

There is alot of work for mi to handle.. From clinical.. sometimes personal..

I dunno.. Mayb to compare with alot others.. This stress is v minimal.. trivial.. To mi.. I jus hate the fact that my work keep piling.. & i can't seems to do finish anythin! Once i mx to complete anythin.. The nx thing jus pile up again..

It feds mi up even more that when i'm right up to my neck.. My other colleague.. She is an optometrist.. sorry if i got the spellin wrong..

Her main scope is to check eye..

Other than tat.. Jus help out with appointment taking, answering the phone.. tat's all.. mi n the recept we are up to our neck briming with work.. she jus sit there stare at her nails.. urgh!!!

And u noe the biasness abt my boss??

My colleague can ask her the same thing tat i ask her.. the result will come out totally different..

eg, if there is an insurance form to fill up & patient wants it immediately.. She will give mi tat kinda face and ask.. is it urgent? of coz it is!! If not why would i wan to interrupt her inbetween counsultations??

My colleague go in.. no prob.. jus fill it up..

Sometimes i tell her.. She will say i say it at the wrong time. shld have told her at the end of clinic.. If i din tell her, she will say u shld have said it inbetween!!

I'm reali lost.. I dunno wat is the right thing and time to say wat i'm supposed to say!!

The latest incident.. She asked mi to check out some medicine cost for her..
asked mi to call all the drug distributor.. There is a drug guide on her desk.. and i packed her room, i jus kept it to its originalposition..

called the usual suppliers we ordered from.. Got hell from her coz i didn use the drug guide..Yeah.. i was silly but i reali din think abt it!

All i could ans was tat it was on your desk, u din pass it to mi..

She always think i'm reali free i duno why..

Each time i heard her call my name.. my heart reali sank.. and i will be like.. oh shit.. wat have i done this time??

I tried accepting it.. Coz he actually told mi right from the start b4 we got tog & i said okie.. but when we reali got tog.. i realise tat nope.. i can't.. end up we quarrel mainly coz he smokes..

the hardest thing was peer pressure.. coz he started out with his buddy.. once they are out tog, they confirm smoke tog..

he would feel v left out and extra if he goes out with them n he's the onli one not smoking..

Currently, i'm working in a clinic.. We already have 2 associate doctors working in a clinic above us.. How it works is on off we refer to each other cases when we're too crowded or dependin on the speciality..

Now.. A new doc will be joinin in to our clinic.. & the decision has been made!! All the staff will be shared by all 4 docs!!

I'm fainting!!

I worked close to a year now.. 3 more mths & i'm a year.. Sorta v used to my job scope.. Not tat it's at a comfortable level!! Far from it!

But the stress of addin another doc in is killin mi! Coz my doc quite demanding.. All docs are! U're expected to know almost everythin from dae 1.. I'm totally fresh grad when i started.. & given onli a wk to adapt and learn from the old staff..

The new doc won't be bringing any staff over.. As the ONLI nurse there! I'm expected to be assistant to both doc! Mayb i'm thinkin too far now..

But then.. If they both runnin clinic at the same time.. Who am i expected to go to when they called at the same time?!?

Of coz.. They have clinic assistant.. Mainly certain stuff.. E.g procedures.. OR surgery related stuff all under mi..

Another concern is tat.. Practically everydae.. We work over time.. Our policy is tat we claim time off when there is no clinic..

Now.. It'll pose a major issue coz it will be much harder for us to take.. Once our doc is not runnin a clinic..The other doc will be runnin.. Gettin overtime pay is certainly out of the question!

Would it be possible to ask? How shld we put across it to our boss??

Working for one lady boss is a killer! Workin for 2 in the same area!! It spells disaster!!

Upstairs one guy, one lady.. But shldn affect us much unless they find us to do tis and tat.. P.s: Upstairs 2 doc compared to our one doc load is the same!

Our doc sees double the patients in a day!!

Belive it or not.. Our patient can be stuck in the clinic for at least 3 -4 hrs b4 they can go home!!

I'm gettin sentimental.. haha..No matter wat.. My boss is the 1st person whom i had an interview with.. Thru out my whole life!! My first job.. first boss..

I think the way she & i view friendships and r/s totally in a diff way.. Could it be coz she's from a gal school.. Whereas mi is in a mixed school?

She values friendship more than her bf.. She is one tat doesn reali bother too much abt him, etc.. Is onli until recently he went into NS tat she starts appreciating him..

A brief borin history of myself..

1. 1st time i was allowed to go chalet was when i'm in poly.

2. I was worried sick that i'm goin home too late & tat is 11+ in the nite after a class gathering at sentosa..

3. Used to think that K-Box is a bad place to hang out with.. I associated it with clubbing!

My bf is usually the one askin mi to go with him to clubbin, drinkin etc.. I hated it! Jus go for the sake of entertaining.. Can't stand the smoky envt.. Hmm.. I think so far.. I've onli been eh.. 2 times! Haha..

This outing.. @ 1st supposely to be gal dae out.. Yeah.. We arranged the date early jan.. Coz most of us work shift.. V hard to find a common dae when everyone is free.. My gf asked mi out to go drinkin.. In a place called Clinic Bar or some name @ Clarke Quay..

Pardon my ignorance.. I dunno it's considered clubbin or wat?

But my boy refused to let mi go coz there were onli 3 of us gals there.. Well.. OUr ages are 20, 21, & the oldest is 28.. Naturally he is worried.. Says heis fine with mi goin shoppin, movies, etc with my gf.. but not drinkin..

If wanna go drinkin.. he at least be there.. (Bodyguard) haha.. I noe.. In singapore and in this century.. Tis is abit old fashioned..

My 2 gf I & V.. V is the youngest.. I is the oldest..

We were supposed to meet this thurs.. BUt V bf isn out.. N if my boy go, he is the onli guy and the odd one out.. so i suggested wk end when everybody is available..

Since V is on leave, i checked with I first.. See if she is free on fri or sat.. she choose sat..

Told V abt changin it to sat instead. She gave mi hell..

Sayin tat I have to change her schedule.. She also had to change to accomodate..

The thing is. I Onli suggested sat... I din insist! @ first V say they got somethin on..

I told her.. ok. we keep thurs then.. But go else where instead of tat pub.. She refused.. Then i 've no choice! I said wan go the pub go another dae then..

Bombarded mi with lots of hurtin n cutting words..

Say we 're not married.. HOw come he controllin u?? Dun allow you to go.. If u r married.. Worst lah.. no need to come out with them anymore. etc.

Says tat oh. my bf don allow mi to go out with u too.. blah blah..
Says wan give my boy a piece of her mind when she sees him on sat.

Ha.. i can't imagine how my boy will react.. He normally no temper at all... but i doubt on tat dae, he will keep quiet lik i usually do.. I'm sure he will talk back.. and i'm afraid of a showdown..

Okie.. The baby 2 my 20yr old friend is an accident.. They gotten married & now their bAby boy is 1mth old!

The maternal instinct ragin inside mi.. Wish i got baBy of my own to loVe & cherish.. Hehe..

But nah.. I'm still not ready for marriage.. Kids.. Etc..

Still adaptin to steppin out in the society to work..

After a while, perhaps you can just go back to a hospital to 'relax' a bit? Work in an environment you're more familar and can better cope with...? At that point, your experiences with this clinic taht you've been working with and the hospital job might be able to better compliment each other? Hence you might even be expecting a better pay or acceptance when you're out for a job change?

The pay wise ah.. Is almost the same as hosp pay.. Both the clinic and hosp got it pros n cons bah..

Think wat i'm upset is coz i can't cope with the work yet.. Plus now my boss family matters.. addin pressure to mi.. more work, less time..
