By Light troops I refer to lightly armed troops (which is the general description for that term). Mainly referring to the scouts/recon troops who carry less contact rates than regular infantry troops. We dun conduct assaults.Read carefully before assuming. I never said across the board that SAF consist entirely of lightly-armed troops.

There's also one more:
scan ic, check items, sit around and wait for target attendence set by Bn CO/ Bde 2IC/ Bde Comd.
By right you should already have the individual packs of field pack items but mostly its not impt to know which item goes in which pack since they mostly just wanna see if you got them. Activation usually means you bring everything along, including the running shoes...

Other things I can tell you about a typical Battalion HQ is that, it consist of 3 companies - HQ company (with the 4 branches), a Signals company and a Sniper/Reconnaissance company.
They mainly play the support and command role, to support the fighting companies.

Anyway, all the Ss are mostly A**es.

The POW course is 2 weeks, and 1 week is on theory. The 2nd week is practical, and the dunking plus "torture" part is only 1.5 days I think... First few days of 2nd week is more of jungle survival
That 1.5 days was the longest 1.5 days of my life. Subjected to all sorts of soft torture that's garaunteed not to leave any scars for the Red Cross to see. It just gets more psychological then physical as it progressed with time.I heard during my course one of the guys cracked and blurted out the PS's name and both kenna really jialat after that.

Well, look at the bright side. You're only stuck with them during ICT and not for 365days. Many of them are probably stuck in those jobs where they suffer from inferiority complex so they tend to take it out on others when they have the chance (in this case, ICT). Its bad to be stuck with them so why not try to make friends or at least have a talk sometimes may help.
